If it is a 2-3 week deal, that mean we will probably lose 2-3 more games, which can easily put us down to the 4th 2 seed, and in Duke's region. I think I'd rather be a 3 if that is the case.
Without Travis I think we can win all remaining games except for Tenn. which still puts in line for top overall 2 at least. Don’t feel this is Doomsday at all unless he will miss any post-season time.

But would knowing that Travis is coming back preclude them from screwing Duke like that?

I have my doubts. It's more about protecting Duke's #1 seed than anything else. Taking a fully-charged UK team and throwing them into Duke's east region doesn't really reward the Devils.

It's possible.. that EJ and Richards getting 10+ more mpg, will not only help them for the tournaments coming up, but it might make Kentucky better as a whole too.

Got to imagine that Nick and EJ (to a lesser extent) have a higher ceiling than RT. It's possible this helps them get there.

Just gotta hope we don't lose many games trying to get there.

Outside of PJ, Reid is our most valuable player, IMO. His presence allows PJ the freedom to do what he has been doing. Without Reid, teams will double PJ every time he touches the ball. Teams cant do that with Reid in the game because of the mismatch it would create. I think Reid is the glue that holds our ship, losing him would be beyond devastating.

I agree with this. Hopefully RT is only out a couple of weeks though. Otherwise, it may help further elevate NR and EJ.

I honestly think he is at best the 4th most important player . Doesn't mean he isn't imporant but PJ , Herro and Hagans are all more important to our success. I trust Richards and EJ in there WITH PJ . When I don't trust them is when they are in the game together if that makes sense. So if Travis misses a few weeks I am not too concerned as it if gives Richards and EJ more room to grow and when travis comes back we will be that much stronger . Again though lets actually here something before we talk to much about this .

Reid’s tough and knows this is his last crack at college glory.

So long as there is no tear and it’s just a pain tolerance thing I think he will return pretty quickly. It’s not like he’s a guy who over relies on bounce or athleticism. His upper body and position are the keys to his game.

Knee and leg strength are main factors in positioning.

FWIW, this guy's pretty well regarded in diagnosing NFL injuries as they happen.

This guy is a disreputable hack to watch a few seconds of video and then render a diagnosis on someone he's never met. The AMA ought to censure him -- especially when we're talking about a college kid deserving of some privacy and not a multi-million dollar professional athlete.

I'm predicting he COULD play Saturday but may be held out as a precaution. He will play by next Saturday.

I posted in the unofficial Reid thread he might be limited for Saturday but he’s fine probably can rest for Arkansas and be full strength for Tennessee

Team is still in Missouri?

That's like being stuck in the Twilight Zone. Every day there takes off a week of your life.

Get 'em out as soon as possible.

Wish they could've taken the MRI in Columbia. I'm a nervous wreck waiting to hear official word.

I suppose that's possible but I have no idea how team medical care works.

Seems to me, for cost reasons, they will just wait and have UK's team doctors / UK Hospital do it...if they ever get out of that cess pool.

You don't need a vertical to play basketball, Reid has proven that time and time again.

I hate when people only gauge athleticism by how high a kid can jump. That is just silly.

That's an incredible and totally unexpected take from them.

I wonder if they've collected evidence indicting a second shooter in the Kennedy assassination.

This is how I'm choosing to look at it. It very well could be a blessing in disguise. I love Reid and hope he's back ASAP but after hearing Cal always talking about how good Nick and EJ can be, maybe this will motivate them.

Nick turns into the shot blocker we've been hoping for and gets that hook shot more consistent while grabbing 6-8 rebounds a game.

EJ turns into that guy that can score 8-10 points a game plus get a block or two, a couple steals and 5 rebounds.

We can only hope! Lol

It was a shame that the refs didn't stop play when he got hurt. On the defensive end he was telling PJ to foul them to stop the play. Then when we got the ball back they still didn't stop it until we had to burn a Time out.
