Let's get rid of the Land Grant Trophy game and play this game every year for the Jenny Dell Trophy

Just slap a plaque on the bottom.

Great overall team win.
  • Best overall I've seen the OL play in awhile. Not perfect but good enough to support a strong running game today (thank you G-d-- about time!)
  • Singleton is just fantastic. He and Allen may be one of the best RB combos in the country
  • Clifford was very good, didn't make any mistakes.
  • D pressure on the QB! Best throughout the game I've seen in a long time.
  • Bixby got his yards but overall front 7 was pretty effective.
  • Props to Strange. He has been really solid - good hands and blocking. TEU (tight end U)!
  • Our punter didn't see the field much today. I can't remember more than one punt.

I think Diaz noticed their execution got a lot better when they at least lined up like they were bringing pressure, even if they eventually dropped back. Hopefully that's fixed, and the traditional "prevent" D is gone for good.
Agreed. I think it's tough to play m2m and downhill then completely go soft and off ball. Our CBs aren't excellent open field tacklers (think Bama) and we don't have a NFL ready Mike (which leaves the middle open more than we like), but we saw some good things out of the defense today.

So that was technically the last B10 team to go to JHS.

I have to say I have to congratulate CJF on this win. I have been critical of his coaching in the past couple of years, but he had his team ready to play in a difficult road environment. No real critically bad coaching decisions. My hat’s off to him.

In a word...impressive. I was not expecting a blowout win like this. Penn State looked poised, capable, physical. Best I can remember them looking in a long time - manhandling a team on the road. Kudos to everyone (coaches and players) for getting it very very right.

And I think Franklin doesn't like to lose to SEC teams. ;)

If he’s late in the progression, he won’t see him unless his other options are covered and he has time…tough to fault him for missing a receiver on his back side.
Washington went in motion on the play. If nobody went with him (nobody did) you know he’s going to be wide open.

Washington went in motion on the play. If nobody went with him (nobody did) you know he’s going to be wide open.

The defender who had him went across the field, but stopped beside the farthest defender. The announcers seem to think he called for a switch that wasn't heard. If the play wasn't designed for Clifford to throw to Washington, Clifford saw a defender chasing him and went to his reads on the play side.
