I think this was taped prior to Jurichs job termination and Pitino being subpoenad by the fbi. Likely as a witness, or he would have been arrested, not given a subpoena.

I didn't watch it. Rick in these past few years has proven to be a bad interview on any subject.

Here's what some reporter stated at one time.....how can a coach with a reputation earned as a control freak say he doesn't know? You say the staff knows or you know how many laps they run, how many free throws they shoot, how many calories they eat. How did you not know where or what two coaches that you named as recruiters were doing?
If you didn't know then why were you still in charge?

Did Rick shout out "I'm a fan of man" ... I dont know the lines between Pacino and Pitino are blending together more than ever

I do think it more likely Rick didn't know about the latest issue, vs the hookers in the dorms. But then again, I find it hard to believe an assistant coach would work out a $100k deal with a shoe company, without his head coach have giving the "green light". As an assistant, the risk/reward seems pretty high to just land 1 specific recruit.

Maybe its not that Rick said, go out and get Bowen and use Addias to funnel $100k to him. But at some point, I bet Rick gave some private direction to his assistant coaches, to "do whatever it takes" to land recruits, but I just can't know about it.
Which makes Old Rick responsible.
I have said and will continue to say that it matters little whether he knew or not. If he did, he's wrong. If he didn't, he should have, and is wrong.

Rick is such a religious man maybe he should go into the Priesthood. Then he could really answer to God like he says he does...or whatever god it is that he believes in.

All I know is that IF he really didn't know, it's because he told them "do what you have to do, but don't tell me about it". No way is he 100% innocent, in either of the last 2 scandals.

Wasn't that a strange deflection to make at the end. Mr. Bilas didn't know both the UL President and AD have been fired? Was he prepared to do this interview or did he just show up to prop up Pitino and deflect the real issues that led to Pitino's departure?

Over the past year or so Jay Bilas has proven to be nothing more than a mouth piece for the ACC and an apologist for corrupt coaches in that league. His star is dim now and I am finished listening to anything he has to say.
He is becoming VERY predictable with the same narrative on everything. . . . go against the prevailing opinion he hears and blame the big bad boogie man authorities for everything. It's childlike.

Several times he said he hired those assistants so "he takes responsibilty".

Well what exactly does that mean? In my book it means you are the Capt. so you go down with the ship. It doesn't mean you simply SAY I take responsibility and then skate. Getting fired IS taking responsibility. In fact he should have resigned after Strippergate.

I am more leery of the people who are always making references to god/jesus than a avowed atheist.......................
About the only time they mention His name is when they are in trouble or cussing from the bench. "Everybody talking about heaven ain't a going there" as the old song says.
