We dont make the tourney if eugene stays. I shouted from the rooftops before the season it was addition by subtraction, only to get laughed at. So now, I laff
if you would have asked me last year, which couple of players would be the least likely to transfer, Gene would have been right up there in the group....a true warrior who gave his all, it seemed.
I believe some of his quotes were that he left because he wanted to play for an NCAA team, and another quote that we would not make it after he left
so, if those statements are accurate in any way, we all should take some measure of satisfaction.... I would bet that he hoped we did not make it, in order to validate what he did.

my biggest hope is that Oregon goes south next year and misses the tourney....that would be fitting justice..... in reality the chances of them not making it are small....but I can still hope.

I think this is a very valid position to take and is not showing lack of class. I also think getting Yeboah after EO leaving was a Godsend and we ended up being a better team.
He has to live with his decision. The guys who are on this year's team will go down in Rutgers history. EO will be an afterthought.

We got yeboah before eugene made his middle of the night announcement. Eugene was getting bullied in the post by ron in spring runs and then yeboah came and played pick up with them and i know for a FACT that eugene thought yeboah had a ton of game and thought hed play no more than 20 a night so he was OUT. Scared boy
You do realize Cliff is NOT his brother...Yeboah gave us much more than Eugene did or ever would...

I rarely get on college players, but I'll make an exception for EO. He was the freaking captain of the team going into his senior year. I like Oregon and really like their HC, but I'll be rooting against the Ducks in 20-21.
Mod should just AXE this thread.. I think EO is probably happy for Rutgers, Pike, the players, our fans.. some of them.

And, yes, pike does have room for improvement this off season with setting up a half court O. I must say tho, someone had to have gotten in his ear about mine @RUsojo and @Scangg ‘s posts demanding he try 2 for 1’s and play young montez and geo together. Weve seen that over the past 3 games and weve looked pretty damn good with that guard combo. Gonna hurt my back tho if i keep patting it so ill stop

Trust me when I say this, our players genuinely do not like eugene and think hes a punk. Theres no love lost between eugene and anyone at RU
Hard disagree with that. Omoruyi is an undersized four who doesn't solve our one big problem (shooting). Honestly don't think he would've made us any better.
Geo in September throwing shade at Omoruyi and making clear the goal was to end the drought.
'Ya know, in my joy about this Rutgers basketball team and what they've done this year, (and will do in the years to come), I'd completely forgotten about EO. -But that's good. His own decision rendered him totally irrelevant to RU on the hardwood, and truthfully, I don't give a damn about him one way or the other.

Nah I would. You can ask @ScarletBartlett who witnessed me tell mike poole he was soft for transferring after the mike rice fiasco. We both got kicked out of queens after he pushed me and i grabbed him by his shirt with both hands. He tried to fight me outside then backed down once he saw i was about that life
if i saw eugene in person i would tell him he was softer than baby **** for transferring. Either that or id thank him and tell him we wouldnt have made the tourney with him

I was the same grade as mike poole. The whole, “yOuD nEvEr sAy iT iN pErSoN t0 hIm” crowd are such idiots. Like yeah dude if i see eugene walking in manhattan im gonna run up to him and say “yo dude real quick youre a *****” like of course im not. But if i was playing hoops and he was as well id chirp him about it. Its just such a dumb thing to say.

Well honestly the convo started off cordial. I said to him, “yo dude please stay, if you guys stay we can dance next year”. At which point he said, “nah man **** this place”. To which i said, “where are you gonna go iona? That degree is about as valuable as a GED, just stay here get an RU degree and let that take you places”. At this time he said “get the **** out my face” (i wasnt up on his face just talking to him in a body to body bar) To which i responded “alright but if i were you id stay at Rutgers”. I went to walk away, he pushed me, I then actually got in his face, grabbed him by his shirt with both hands. We both got bounced out, he took a little hop towards me, i stood my ground and asked him what he was gonna do, he talked a little ****, i told him i **** girls bigger than him and then we parted ways.

No Ill will for him. He cowardly and selfishly left the team and bet wrong on his teammates and his coach and himself. He can now play with Oregon next year and maybe achieve what he wants. But I part of the group that thinks this team was better without him and his departure might have been a motivating force to do well this season.
We will never know if we would have been better with Eugene, but I doubt we would be worse. If Gene was not helping the team win, his minutes would have gone way down.
