I’m glad Haywood has found the range tonight, I hope ke keeps it.
I kept saying it was mental, now that he has seen it go in hopefully he'll play more naturally. His normally solid defense even stepped up a bit.
Need to fight through what is some atrocious refereeing and what will be a physical game. Our zone defense has switched to a sliding almost switching man when we go small. If they can learn to back up to rebound it will be very tough on other teams. It should be easier to rebound out of because they are staying more attached to their opponent then the more traditional zone we play.
We don't have to win at rebounding, but we will have to shoot well to get a victory though. So either we need to stay hot or improve or block outs.
With Haywood hitting and Richie a threat I expect to see more Jackson and Rachal drives from the wings and Elijah to push mismatches into the lane for kick outs, dump to the post, or some floaters or little pivot turn around he likes. The space will be there from the perimeter defenders hedging, which is how they have handled Richie so far. Hopefully if they press on Haywood he can get some drives and dunks.
