Said it a few pages back, that's precisely the reason I want nothing to do with Duke in the tournament. PJ will be out with 2 fouls before the second TV timeout and Zion would turn the paint into his own personal UFC octagon and have 2 fouls the entire game. I want no part of the officiating in a Cal vs. K game.

Good point. I said, last night, that I wouldn't mind UK playing Duke now..but that's in a fairly officiated game, which we all know won't happen vs. Coach K and Duke.

You mean the ones who let Reid Travis assault the UT players with no call? I'm sure you would love to have those refs again.
Turner has had his hands draped all over our ball handlers at the top of the key and Williams hip checked the hell out of Quickley which is always called. Shoot something besides jumpers and quit bitchin’

if they only took 9 and hit 77% suggests they worked for the shots and they weren’t as easy to guard. so really they just outworked us. 9 attempts is not a lot.

Then get his 3rd foul and go back to the bench. I have a bad feeling he will be a nonfactor the rest of the game. I hope I am wrong and they let him play like they are UT's players.
The refs didn't do it to him..He was the one acting like an idiot and held the Tenn guys first..It was probably planned by Tenn..It was one of their scrubs...PJ has do know better..He and KJ need to just play ball.

Our 3pt defense SUCKED in the 1st half. Everybody needs to ratchet up their defense to take away Bowden’s easy looks. I miss the days when Liggins would lock on and shut ‘em down. Sometimes I think all this d#@$ switching causes more problems than solves.

PJ is going to have to learn to control his emotions. This hooking arm routine has happened at least 3 times this year. The one player we can't afford to lose for a long stretch

I think Johnson is going to have to step up if Barnes is focused on shutting down Herro

We are lucky we are not down more than it is with PJ not playing the last 12 minutes. They are 7 for 9 on 3 pointers if we don't stop that we will lose. PJ has to come out and be smart and not foul or get drawn in to a confrontation. I don't see how they can keep shooting that well playing the late game last night. Keldon and Quickly has to step it up.
14:18 on the clock when PJ got held and somehow fouled Walker also. They outscored us by 3 the rest of the half.

Yes, most coaches have been doing that for at least 15 yrs that Ive noticed.
But the sitting out seems to take PJ out of the 2nd half too as in he just never seems to get his head back into the game...PJ should be left in until he has his 3rd because most of the times he gets 2 fouls in the first half, he finishes the game with only 2 fouls..

No ****, I’m familiar with the concept. You can’t sit your best player for 14 minutes in this kinda game.
I'm torn on that. If PJ was left in and picks up his 3rd foul, then he's really limited in the 2nd half. On the other hand If we got down by double digits, what's the point of saving him for the 2nd half.

Luckily we didnt let the game get out of hand and we have PJ fresh and ready for the 2nd.

We got this fellas. I just don't see them shooting like that in the 2nd half.

Stilled thoroughly pissed UT sent in a guy who never plays to hook PJ resulting in the double foul.

The one guy we could have get into foul trouble is PJ, tell me the refs don't know that.

Tell me Barnes didn't have his goon go out there and tie PJ up. I still don't know what PJ did in that tie up to deserve a flagrant.

Don't even get me started on that stupid over the back call.
This is the worst part about it. PJ did nothing but pull his arm loose. What a bunch of crap. What is a player suppose to do in the beginning of an intense game?

Just got to half time on delay. I can't believe that BS call on PJ for getting his arm held, but what an amazing jog to stay with them after losing PJ at the 14-minute mark. That's impressive. I didn't like the call, but it worked ok now PJ has to beast out for 20 minutes in the 2nd half. EJ a little shaky to start, but some big-time play towards the end. What about RT! Now guard the F-ing 3 point line!

That and that little jumper just inside the foul line from Bone.

Not sure I can take the stress the rest of this half. If you don't hear from me at some point again during the end of the game you will know why.

Thats fair. I dont have enough data to counter, all i pointed out is coaches (including cal) have been doing it for a while now. Not sure when it started though.

Prime Cindy's halftime report:

"I think UK pulls ahead in the second half. Gotta like their chances when UT hit 7/9 from three with PJ out. If UK shuts them down from three, UK wins by 6 to 8 points. Goooooo Cats!"

They should have warned both guys, not enough for any fouls called there. It didn't hurt Tennessee, but that was the plan for the Vols getting an unknown player to get a foul called and PJ and it worked.

Chin up BBN all that got was 5 minutes of PJ and he is a TN killer. I hope he gets a rhythm in the 2nd half and gives us 20 big minutes with RT out there and own the paint.
