Good first half. If it wasn't for 2 missed dunks, horrible turnovers and some horrible shot selection we would have a comfortable lead. Seems like everytime we had a run going we would then turn it over or take a terrible shot.

I thought it was a pretty well called game so far. But admittedly the standards for officiating are very low.

But I have no complaints about the officials in this game. I feel like we let off the gas after getting the 10 point lead.

I'm seeing a lot of complaining about officials, but I'm not seeing very many bad calls. Sometimes we just foul.
I'd take this type of officiating in every game. There is at least some kind of flow.

18-7 at 13:30 mark when Cal substituted everyone.

Less than two minutes later it’s a 7 point lead.

Ridiculous.

Yea covering the spread by halftime is so bad. Not to mention Hagans nightmare game with 6 first half assists. Foolish foolish foolish. Try being happy for a change, you might like it.

9 turnovers most of them sloppy ones that could been avoided. Got beat on the boards 23-21 and gave up 9 off rebounds 2 on FT's.

Not going to beat elite teams doing this.

To be fair, Miss St is doing well to get in our passing lanes. Disrupting our usual rhythm of play. Have to make them pay for guessing, fakes and cuts.

I’m actually okay with the bigs stepping out, stretches the floor. PJ especially and I think EJ is going to start knowing them down. It’s the way the game is evolving, everyone’s gotta get used to it.

Defense has been pretty good overall
Some lapses and some bad misses on our part offensively
Better first half than a lot of our games IMHO

I agree the defensive effort is still there. Travis really battling inside. Hagans is Hagans. Too cute with the ball though, silly turnovers and bad shots after the big lead.

Yeah, I'm more than happy with this officiating, we have seen the alternative.

This team has all the pieces to be really good. But it needs a coach that will explain players roles and hold them to it. PJ and Travis should not be shooting threes. EJ should not be taking 20ft jumpers. Nick needs more minutes.

Good half. Defense is day and night from early in the year. MSU has some athletes. Not
gonna be a lot of easy shots.

Great start and strong first 7 minuets and then we subbed out the starters and it dropped off.

The travel call on Hagens and push off call on nick were bad

I don’t love them early in the shot clock, or in the corner - unless they’re wide open and named PJ.

Still not consistent enough for 20 minutes but you really have to like what you see from this team right now. I think they are starting to get it

First half highlights — RT’s rebounding and Herro’s three-point shooting. KJ looked good the first three minutes, but nothing after that.

Disappointed in Cal’s substitution pattern. Went to the bench too early and too often.

I disagree with all of that except for the comments on EJ and those are debatable too.
You should check PJ's outside shooting numbers before you say he shouldn't be shooting 3's.,
Also, it's not like he's abusing it, he only takes a couple per game and usually makes 1.
Not to mention, our bigs taking some outside shots brings their defenders away from the paint. There's a method to the whole thing.

We made some sloppy mistakes and let them beat us on the boards a bit. But also, once we were up double digits the refs swallowed their whistles. Only 5 fouls on MSU.

Typical SEC officiating. Can’t let us get too far away from the spread.
