It’s a poor effort when you are making a lazy passes and don’t put your hands up when defending 3 point shooters. This is squarely on the coaching staff - gotta have our kids emotionally ready to play
Our offense looked like poo at the end because we had too many non scorers with our bigs.
Hagans and Quickley can't score. EJ and Travis need setup to score. Herro is the only guy who could, but he hasn't shown the ability to dominate on offense since the Bahamas.

This team is better than last year, and is progressing faster than that team. However, I believe most games from here on out are going to be a struggle. Road trips in the SEC - scary nights to come.

I mean, what is showing you that we will be fine later this year. We’ve been lackluster against the portion of our schedule where we should be fine tuning for games against Seton Hall, U6, Utah, Kansas, UNC*, etc
You missed a lot of grabbing, hacking and pushing off that went uncalled. Shocker.
Everyone that’s frustrated is just expecting this team to be like the 2015 team right this second... it takes time... I thought we played really good for 15 minutes! Our big men passing was really good! Quade’s turnovers and lack of defense killed us! And just the shots weren’t falling for Herro! EJ hurt us on defense but man that kid is scrappy down low and in rebounding so you gotta have him out there
we are playing a good team and minus the last 4 minutes playing decent but Uk will win this by 8-12 . But what is really imporant is Johnson's ankle . We can win this without him but have zero shot against the UNC, ULs of the world without him.
Don't understand why you're not running more through EJ Montgomery? Travis is trying too much one on one face up work which is not his game. PJ Washington is non-existent? Bad post play by Travis and Washington is causing your guards to try to create, but they can't drive because your post players are out of position clogging the lane.

We're certainly not allowed to play the same defense. That's pretty apparent. Now our players have to second guess if they should touch a ball that might go OOB for fear that the officials are just going to assume it's out on us, regardless.
Not sure how you guys can't grasp that bad officiating can be a wet blanket on the entire team.

I honestly rarely post in the game threads and check Twitter moreso to see what everyone's thinking/saying.
Here's just an observation: The people that I've seen posting for years are predominantly in this thread complaining about our $hitty plays.
Then after we eek out a close win, the power of positivity fans post threads telling those fans that they're not real fans for complaining/criticizing anything.

It's funny (and sad) to me that when we're up, you never see some of these posters. Yet in games like this, here they come, out from under their rocks. Sure, I think the Cats need to be called out when they stink. But not freaking all the time.

We're standing 5 feet off of them while they're red hot from 3. What are the refs preventing us from doing, exactly?
In a neutral aspect I felt it has been just about even, slightly towards the opponent. But instead of criticizing our team and what were doing wrong we resort to its the refs that screwed us. Even when I go to game all the fans are moaning and crying its the refs fault. We play prepared and good we shouldn't need to worry about the refs. Again I did feel UK is playing good lacking momentum. Figured we would pull away after the Technical, but didn't but still have a half a game left. A few very simple coaching changes and will run away in the 2nd half... Right now were playing high school level coaching ball with solely changing rotations, we have no coaching on this team.
I don't think we're playing great either, Sure a good portion of this is on us. And KJ going down stalled us for sure.
But if we had the Duke jersey on, it would be 13 fouls to 4 and we'd be up by 10 right now.

Trying to stay positive but with Cal’s teams when they run the half court set of pass and stand and watch, they are not very good. Some of his teams it takes a lot longer and right combos to look decent in the half court. To me, this is the biggest issue today. Half court O.
