This is AAU ball on display tonight. No defense, no offensive sets, and no consequences. Players first!! Roll the balls out Cal!!!
Or it's possible that those teams we played down there were just godawful.
Everytime UK started a run it seemed Herro came out and tried to be one. Instead he made things worse.

The worst defensive performance I have ever seen under Coach Cal. We have looked outclassed offensively, defensively, coaching (I hate to say it) but we shouldn't have even came close to giving up 59 in one half..ONE half. And the scary thing is, a few of their guys have been in serious foul trouble for a big chunk of the 1st half..and they still scored 59 points in one half on us. Herro shouldn't see the court in the 2nd Half..he is lost and outclassed by almost everybody on the court. The only thing giving me even the slightest bit of hope is that UK is just one run away from being in this game and putting real game pressure on Duke (Duke is very young..they could buckle big under serious pressure, in my opinion)..but if we can't get stops at least halfway consistently, then this game might as well already be over..as it will be literally impossible to come back.
I think Keldon can guard him, but I fear that RJ is gonna get the MJ treatment with the whistle.
I thought Reid would be able to stay with Zion, and he may be able to do so despite that ugly defense on the one Zion drive. It looks like PJ may have to match up with him.
However, I think there is another mismatch with whoever is guarding Reddish as he has the length to shoot over anyone else.
Might sound like a crying Ky fan, but those 3 calls in a row, WTF? PJ hooked foul on him, Ashton in front pushed from behind, oul on him, forgot the 3rd, but stop! Let them play and if your going to call a foul get real and don't first of all call it backwards, but mostly don't call play ons jerk offs!
Cal will use this as a teaching opportunity. And the lessons are hard to watch.
Zion is hitting long jumpers at a rate he will not match the rest of the year. They’re all shooting like crazy. They’re playing a little beyond themselves.
You're damn right I won. You can't blame this crap on the refs. We put a pathetic team on the court that was overhyped. Duke is coached better and they clearly won the recruiting battle.

Watch the season and come back to me later before you pass judgement. Duke came out on fire and scored 35 in first 10 minutes. Second 10 we outscored them by 4. The sky isn’t falling. As I said that was a one in one hundred anomaly.

Ha. I was trying to be funny. Cal had said that we don’t live or die from the 3- but that this team is loaded with three point shooters. We could use some in the second half.
Ok. Time to shake it off and start a new. It’s the second half so it’s a new ball game, Duke is possibly over confident now which can be a negative and help UK get back in it because they may be careless due to that over confidence.
Remember UK was less talented last year on the road and down 18 when they came back and beat WVU. It will all start with defense and winning 5 min at a time!!! For some reason I still think UK can win this, the percentages say they won’t but there is a chance.

Random comments . Nick and Quade are not title winning type players . Decent ? I guess Quade is , Nick couldn't average a double double in the OVC , he just isn't talented . And what the hell has happened to Herro ? I can handle missing open J's , it happens , but jacking up heavily guarded threes with a 15-18 point deficit ?? And I know its just a half but PJ was invisible . I mean MIA .. I know its just one game , and its early but damn , we don't to play these pricks very often . Hopefully we get Zion in foul trouble in half two and get hot . I haven't give up yet .
Uk supposedly has the more experienced team and this isn't our first game. It's pretty apparent that the Bahamas trip was more or less for the boosters/fans and that playing garbage competition did us no good. Season isn't over by a long shot but, Dook will get better too. Having a win over them, even if it was the first game of the season, would have been nice to have on the resume.
The refs aren't costing us this game but they are making it worse with bad call after bad call. I guess you can argue with that too, but its correct.
I'm confused, is it the refs fault or is it our team playing bad?
