Have we not learned yet? Just about every year we are overhyped. We think we’ve got a juggernaut and then... The actual season starts and we’re like “oh, we actually aren’t very good”. Things pull together occasionally at the end but it’s usually too late. Duke looks good but this is embarrassing.

I mean, I kind of am with some of the calls Shows has made. But even if he makes the right calls (or doesn't make a call) UK is still down by double digits.
Remember when Cal said this UK team would be elite defensively???

Yep.. Cal should've called at least another TO if not two when guys were not getting the ball inside early.

Just the first game of the year. Other than fans, this game has little to no significance in the long run. Not the end of the season, or even a big deal.
It’s November 6th. This team is a special team. How often you think Duke score 59 in a half? Sure it sucks getting drummed by Duke currently. But this is an anomaly. Play this game 100 times, Duke doesn’t crack 59 first half again. They are playing great, we are playing like **** and we still scored 42. Let’s get more than 20 minutes into the season before we freak. I hate Duke as much as the rest, but our team is much better than this. That being said RJ Barrett is hands down Dukes best player, guy is a stud. I look for us to cut it below 10 and make a run at them. Go big blue!
Yes the refs are horrible but we are sucking big time. Herro for whatever reason played almost an entire half and was bad defensively and jacked up terrible shot. Johnson terrible decisions no ball movement. Our pgs aren’t running the team. Travis is doing what he needs to. Ej has made some plays but he puts no effort on the defensive end. Cal has a tremendous mess on his hands. Soooo much like last years team with individual play. Yeah the refs are the absolute worst cheaters on the olanet but without them we are getting killed. 59 points!! 59!!!!!
I tried to tell people we are undervaluing Duke's bench. Those guys only have to perform their roles. They don't have to do anything else. They are mostly doing just that.
Our Defense just isn't there. Simply comes down to you can only play 5 at a time and its a very early regular season game. I expect UK to improve over the season and to become much bettering march than in November. That said a number of UK players are underperforming.
We might lose our guard commits if they see how bad these guys look. Will be a bunch of players returning next year if we look like this later this season. Only thing good is Duke might just be so far ahead of everyone that we aren't as bad as we look. Bad news is Duke looks like the clear favorite to win it all right now.

Duke is that good but UK is not this bad. This is the Duke team that played in the preseason. They played exactly like this from Canada to the states The problem is UK was two different teams in the preseason. What they looked like in the Bahamas is not the same team that played in the preseason.
The other issue that many ignores due to fan bias is Duke has the three best players in the game so they have three different guys they can go to to get buckets, I knew this from the begiybut I figure figured depth and experience would make more of a difference. That was dumb of me since I’ve watched UK over come experience with youth due to being more skilled for 9 years.
I now understand how other teams fans felt when going against Wall, Boogie and Bledsoe knowing there was nothing you could do to stop them individually

All the talk of only one ball but three players, egos and other wishful nonsense. Duke is good, no point in downplaying them all year. Whatever with the ref stuff, Duke can hit shots and they can go one on one and pass, three players that can drive the ball. It works, even if we miraculously came back to win its clear we are not as talented.

Barrett is just damn good. I can handle a loss. I don’t like us playing like crap and playing no d which leads to more slobbing all over duke. I think the worst part is we look totally overmatched. Like I can understand missing a few shots but we are further behind duke than that. Hopefully we decide to work on d and improve drastically
Green a tiny guard can't even make both his FTs, lets here it Green lovers, why in the hell should he be out there. Horrible shots, I think made known, pass right to a dook player, bad on D, 1of 2 from the line for a tiny guard. Out of the entire first half one positive play, 1 good pass. Bench him, bench him, bench him! He doesn't belong on the court or this game. I try to listen to all you Green lovers then I saw the 3 from the corner off the backboard for not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time, but so many. That last shot, air ball by him in the Kstate game still sticks in my mind, but I tried to listen to you Green lovers. He sucks! He should be the lat guard off the bench. Forget wearing them down our starting 5 was in this then the subs came in and poof. The stating 5 with some Q, Nick and EJ sprinkled in. We are too deep at guard to let that little turd back in. Honestly there is plenty wrong, but if you can't see he is a liability your blind!
Doubtful. This team will lose atleast 3 in the OOC and 4-6 in conference. We are a 8-10 loss team.
