Whenever people on this board tell me about how players get so much better between their freshman and sophomore years - I just want to respond: Wenyen Gabriel. SKJ. This isn't not universally true.
I don't know that you could be a worse defender than Wenyen or have as limited an offensive game. And SKJ still looks lost. All he brings is a 15 foot jumper.
when you can't guard people you foul them instead, we used to have players who could do that, now it's done to us

Gabriel can guard and plays hard. P.J. does neither. He sucks the energy out of the team with his lack of effort.
Like Pavlovs Dog or whatever his name was. They drive, a whistle blows. Until Cal starts teaching these guys how to guard instead of just yelling for them to guard nothing will be fixed for this team. There is not one that knows how to break down or anticipate the first step or cheat to the ball side etc

this is the main thing people need to see when they watch us play, the quality of shots vs what our opponents get, it's almost always awful
Roberson gets away with an obvious offensive foul. Those two will be able to do whatever they want without being called for it.
