He is as good as the twins when he is confident . But the last J he took was a HORRIBLE decision as Willis was wide open But overall Briscoe has played great this half.
He was wide open and set in the corner. Briscoe gets tunnel vision when he sees the rim.
LSU is guarding 4 players. Thats why Briscoe shot 10 times. When teams sag as much as LSU you have to play Briscoe on the block and have him roam lane and baseline. Having him on the perimeter just kills the offense with Murray out. Hopefully Murray stays out of foul trouble in 2nd half
Briscoe shooting the jumper is the same as Skal getting his confidence back by giving him a start and opportunity to perform despite his POOR play most of the year.
You can't have a guard being a complete liability from 10 foot and in when we get deep in the tourney.. even though he's missed some today he was able to knock them down agains UF and confidence goes A LONG WAYS. Cant get that confidence if you dont shoot it.

It is clearly obvious what the tweeks were - Skal to start and just play without worrying about anything , Briscoe to shoot more to up his confidence and for all the guards to play closer to the post . As always Cal pushing the right buttons at the right time.
Tell you what, If we can get this caliber of play from Skal for the remaining games I could even accept a loss today. Love what he's bringing!
Poythress last season in the games he played was a better shooter than Briscoe is. That's saying something.
Labissiere finished that half with 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks. Best half of the season for him? It's right up there.
If you told me we would be up 9 I would slap my mama as I thought we might be down at half and need to crowd to spurn us on . Just need to get Murray more involved in the 2nd and we win.

everyone getting on briscoe lol. we were down 9-4 he scored 4 straight then got murray a three point play to tie the game. he had another jumper/drive too. he's playing good defense also. you guys go too hard. the fans demanded he take that shot with 5 seconds all groaning. he was still creating and frankly probably would have found us a better shot. good lord. he's not a good shooter. we know this. he gets it kicked it to him with 8 second or left wide open what is he supposed to do? it's the trade off. you guys should be used to it by now.

Yet we're still up by 9. I like our chances given Murray has been known to be a huge 2nd half guy. We just need to hold a damned lead for once. Open this up on some Murray/Willis perimeter bombs and cracking this zone for more lobs to Lee and maybe some Poythress work.

Yeah . thats it . Not that you are a "challenged" person. Briscoe played well beyond the last J he took and the pass he missed to Ulis . His D and overall game has been good today . Only one guy is playing bad and it is Poy. But I am not going to waste a ton of breath on that as it is silly to bash someone when we are playing well as a team as it is team game .
