The officials were bad in the sense that they didn't make any calls and let both teams play rough. I didn't think they were really biased either way

UK with 25 fouls, Auburn with 13. Of course throw out the last 4 for UK, still leaves a huge disparity. We got hosed time and again, then we shoot ourselves in the foot.

U CANNOT win a road game when the other team is chucking IN 3's from 30 feet... off the freakin glass AND when the they get into the BONUS less than 8 minutes into each half. Hell... CATS didn't even get into the bonus until 5 minutes left in the game!!!!! I wanna know where those 3 so-called refs are from!!!

With how bad our frontcourt is.. I can't fathom why Cal isn't getting Hump ready. Why the eff not? And if he's so damn useless, why the hell did you bring him half way around the world to sit on the bench.

The officiating was absolutely terrible, but we should be able to overcome it against one of the worst teams in the country.

This problem of late game meltdowns can't be ignored .. We slow it down and run clock , and slow it down and slow it down . Our offensive sets are WEAK .

Don't like Forde but you can't disagree with this -

Pat Forde: Even Missouri beat Auburn. So did Middle Tennessee, Harvard and Hawaii. Terrible loss for Kentucky.

GTFO here quoting Forde. Those teams did not get Auburn's best game ever, and the officiating we got either.

they let canty push off, but when he fell down with no play they whistled briscoe for his 4th

when canty got contact on drives he shot free throws. when ulis got contact on drives he did not

the officials were awful

Cal did not have one of his best coaching games, that's for sure. I would bench Lee and Alex against Arkansas. For a senior and junior, they're providing no leadership and no production. I'm resigned to the fact that we will win two games at most in the tournament. You can't get it done with NOTHING in the paint.

If Poythress and Lee want to keep giving nothing, let's take a look at Wynyard and Humphries. I've had it with Poythress, if he cares so little about his future NBA prospects, Cal shouldn't worry either. Sit his azz.
On a few others I would suggest transferring and hit the recruiting trail or see what we can get.

they got a quick corner 3 for murray that rimmed out

better than any of the hero ball auburn came up with down the stretch

gee maybe all these crucial half-court possessions late in games are teachable moments

poythress was palming auburn dunk attempts but he still can't dribble so let's conclude he doesn't care

Those pinning this loss on Cal are crazy. He CANNOT MAKE any one rebound, make shots, guard. Not to mention stop the other team from CHUCKING MULTIPLE 30 FOOTERS IN. PLUS... There is NOT ONE scout, coach or player in the country that thought Skal would be this soft, in-effective and just plain lost!! The Ohio State loss is much worse than this one... Hell that was on a neutral court.... not even on the road!

Are we at the point where skal gets no more chances ? Put hump in for 10-12 min a game . And my boy Lee is just doing awful . Terrible .

Oh well. Just a regular season loss on the road. On to the next one. The season isn't over. Hopefully the team will improve through conference play like Cal's teams usually do.

By this point, you are what you are. Poy will never be "the" guy in any consistent way. Lee is a no show. Skal is not ready. That's it. There is no low post option.
This is the main issue with this team: no front court players; what we have are role players who are being forced to play starters minutes. Not trying to put down the guys, it's simply the truth. Cal missed on Skal, IMHO, and it's hurt us badly. We have NO ONE we can say is a really good front court player, none.

I'm really kinda fed up of being in the SEC. Considering we're by far the premier basketball program in the league you would think we would get some benefit from it. But instead we deal with corrupt officiating, and yes today is a prime example because no one can be that bad. It's total corruption. Then you have a team like Auburn that plays way over their head today hitting circus shot after circus shot. Chances are they won't play anywhere close to that well the rest of the season. The rest of the league is the same way. They usually doesn't care unless the other team on the court has Kentucky on their jersey. Almost always we're guaranteed to get every league teams or pretty much every team we face best effort. And in football we most definitely don't get any breaks like all these teams do against us in basketball.
