Losing 2000 miles from home in December isn't the worst thing of all time. I'm just not seeing it with Murray and Skal. That is pretty disheartening.
I agree 100% with your assessment of the game. You drive the ball, you get some foul shots.
Don't stop there, he's not doing a single thing offensively either. I guess I just thought he would be so much better based on whst I heard over the summer. I'm stunned at just how ineffective he is.
Briscoe is better at driving, I haven't seen those crazy flip shots like Archie did all the time. But yeah, Goodwin was a better shooter, and I don't think I've ever said that about anyone before.
We keep going inside when we have no one that can score in there. i know Cal hates them shooting 3's but that's how this team is going to have to win.
Its a mix of both. We are playing horrible and the refs are horrible too. The refs barely blow the whistle on UCLA.
After only watching the second half the main problem I see is the inability to play through physicality.
We are playing bad but this is one of the worst ref screwings we've gotten in awhile. Alford pushes off all the time, they have used they're off hands in general all night with no call and they have come over the back a ton. Factor in we have gotten called for every little thing and it's ********.
As for Skal, he's pathetic. I'd rather have Harrellson than Skal. He looks like Marcus Lee as a freshman if not worse. No doubt he will be OAD just because teams will be dumb enough to draft him high off potential but there's no way in hell I'd want him. Hell I'd trade him straight up for WCS or even Dakari and I gave Willie crap all year last year. I couldn't be more disappointed in Skal.

Getting blown out of the gym as the #1 team against an unranked opponent that lost by 20 to KU. One of Cal's worst losses at UK, easily.
I don't blame the refs often, and don't think they are the reason we are down, but they won't allow us to play hard enough to make a comeback.
