Ugh. Physical teams continue to be our Kryptonite. Still having a great season, we were due for an L. Free throw shooting did us in; but you miss when you are tired.

We deserved to lose. Goofed around all game and eventually Anderson got hot. We have serious problems not making free throws
We have serious problems in the back court. Duke has always lost in the guard position under Scheyer. I warned everyone about Anderson and not on player stopped him . Who is going to step up in the back court ? Who is going to keep the pressure off Boozer ? Duke has holes . That have plagued them every year under Scheyer.

Tired ain’t the problem. Mental focus is the problem. I would think their players had to be more tired than ours. If we were tired, then Jon and staff need to do a lot more conditioning. This was a total team/coaching loss. On to the next one.
Merry Christmas!

True; but you can be mentally tired as well. Could be youth. Who knows it's just one game. Backcourt needs to be better for us to get back to the FF. Boozer is carrying us. Lots to work on but we're having a good season.

Didn’t deserve to win. Was up 16 and had them in foul trouble but then just goofed around. TT was tougher. And Duke played **** defense and couldn’t make free throws.
Yes but completely stopped throwing the ball on the block with huge size advantages and continued to let Pat switch on Anderson who lit him up. This is a really bad loss and everyone fell asleep, Jon included.

This was a bad loss not because of who Duke lost too but how. How do you blow a huge second half lead again. Coach Scheyer is great for Duke and perfect fit but he still has a lot to learn. They blew this game no other way about it. Jon really needs to figure this part out.

No Duke looks like seasoned past . It’s time for Scheyer to get a tech and grow a pair . This was a loss that should have not happened

First off, this was a great job by Tech’s coach. He willed his boys to compete, and not back down. Now that I got that out of the way, as good of a job that their coach did, Jon was equally as bad. The tougher, and better team won.

There’s NO way this should have been a ball game. We shouldn’t have needed the free throws we missed. Ngongba should have feasted on their lineup. Evans was just as bad. These two guys against anyone, much less a handicapped team, to combine for 8 points? Inexcusable. We also got the Foster tonight that will not lead us anywhere.

I said pregame that we needed four guys in double figures. We got two, and it was the brothers.

Poor loss...starts with the PG play but also Scheyer just lost when the momentum changed. We had won a few close ones so I thought we would know what to do with a lead...turns out that we don't..onto the next game

I’ve been beyond supportive of the coaching staff and bought my fair share of flack . I will say this as a true supporter. This is on the coaches period . How are you up 17 to let Anderson light you up ? the Houston game was the same . It’s your guards and lack of scoring from the bench and starters . Texas tech had no business with two players on a six man healthy team fouling out winning and anyone who says they did has their Duke blue glasses on . If ever was a time to question Duke this is it !

He's always acted like a little school boy coward on the sideline no matter how bad the officials stick it in their ***. At some point you have to go ballistic on the refs....

This is on missed free throws and poor boxing out in the last ten minutes. The coaches aren't playing and shooting the free throws, last time I checked.
No but we are talking about Duke and players who say they want to play at the highest level! Looks like that only apply to Duke’s front court because Anderson just touched he entire back court !

Yeah Jon getting roasted on X, which he should. If you were to tell me we would go 5-1 this far into the non conference with the schedule they had- I’d take it. But man, Duke had no business losing this game. Real sh*t way to go into an 11 day break.

I don’t think you can blame FT shooting on youth. Heck, these kids have played in a ton of games from high school, AAU, and now collegiate. Some say they need to practice more, but I think it’s a mental thing. I’m not sure what mentally tired means when playing basketball. This ain’t accounting.

No excuse whatsoever. Whether it's free throws or bad coaching there's no excuse for us to lose that game. Our guys this year don't have the kill factor like last year. How can we not get the ball to Boozer with that little white dude guarding him. Yes they packed the paint, but you have to find a way to get it to him. Why did Harris barely play in the second half? I think he's a more reliable outside shooter than Nik or Sarr.

I've ran track several times at MSG and the excitement and nervousness can be pretty mentally draining. Much more so my first 2 years.

I think Duke has become to predictable. It’s simply anything past the second round is a plus . This was a loss on the coaches especially Duke had no foul trouble . Hey atleast they can win the ACC. I think we split with UNC

I'm not going to the round of 32 ledge but a split with UNC is possible. They are a lot better.

It was fine for the players and coaches to build a 17 point lead. They weren’t mentally drained doing that. That sounds like an excuse for Duke blowing another lead down the stretch and Coach not knowing how to handle it.

We will be good. But I wanted Proctor back. I still don't trust Foster completely. Maybe he gets there, but him and Evans are not consistent.

Pat shot 1 shot all night 1.
He’s 6’11 and had a mix of a 6’6 and 6’4 guy on him. The most mind boggling loss and game plan I’ve witnessed as a Duke fan. Absolutely gut wrenching loss to a team they should have beat by 15.

Proctor and Foster are about the same, both incredibly unreliable. If either one is your top guard, you’re in trouble. I hate to say that but it’s true. At least last year we had a senior Sion.
