All these little mistakes are starting to add up and can't do that against a good UT team.

I wonder what the stats are on scoring percentage when the defense gets a stop on 3rd down and the offense gets bailed out by a penalty. It's gotta be 80%

I'm afraid we have missed too many opportunities by this point. The 4 points from missed kicks, Harris' holding to extend the drive, Harris' dropped INT allowing for the TD on the next play.

With TN getting the ball to start H2 I'm afraid we have little chance. With our offense we couldn't afford to leave those points off the board and unnecessarily extend their drives.

How the hell can Fitz and McCall sit there and watch Tenn get all their big plays to their TE and not get Vitale the ball EVEN ONCE in the entire first half. What a joke.

Astute observation.

Poor Thorsen. I say again, he must have run his mouth during the team dinner. They are pounding on him bigtime

Yep. Not getting the breaks today. The penalty and then dropped INT by Harris were killers.

I feel the team has mentally fallen out of this game. I don't have much faith in the coaching staff fixing that over halftime. Given that 38-45 to 9 is looking pretty real right now.

In the course of the season once they fell behind and took themselves out of the game, Michigan. Five or six times we could have bet on the fetal position and they responded well. I expect the defense to win their battles at the start of the 3rd quarter and it will be up to the offense to make a game of it.

We'll see pretty quick how the second half will go, defense needs a stop on opening drive big time.

IDK, Beetle, I think the Vols gave the Cats some pretty big breaks early on with all those head-up-butt unsportsmanlike penalties. NU just haven't found a way to capitalize on the breaks they did get, so far.

This game is far from over.

Absolutely. Far from over. Tennessee's weakest quarter in 2015 has usually been the 4th. It certainly isn't over yet.

Herbstreit said it, Tennessee is showing its athletic superiority to Northwestern....
Recruiting from a different gene pool has its advantages I guess! JK y'all...

True, but I have seen the Cats adjust at half and come out and play well and I have seen them collapse in the second half (see Iowa game). I hope it's the former :)
I have also seen butch show a great lack of ability in halftime adjustments. The first half I don't worry. Halftime always has me on pins and needles.

I agree NU didn't take advantage of some opportunities...

Hate to see it, but this game reminds me of the Iowa game a bit. Not down huge at the half, but getting run on a bit. Iowa outscored us 24-0 in the second half...gosh, I hope I'm wrong.

Again these SEC fans want to play we're better than your weak B1G team.
I beg to differ here, no coaching staff is better at being unable to make halftime adjustments than NU! (Very tongue in cheek!)

I agree. For us to win, we have to play very smart football. Not capitalizing on these opportunities is not smart.

"""Yeah right, Tennessee may win but they aren't going to score 45.""""

Hey BFDCat,

Yeah, I was mistaken. I thought you guys would score more than 6. Yikes.

:D
