Maybe if they had taken advantage of garbage time in past games to practice such plays they'd work OK by now....but of course, that may hurt the opponents feelings!
We had little chance in a close game with these refs. Almost easier to stomache a blowout if the reffing is going to be one sided.
Well, look how long McCall went with the power-set on 3rd and short last year.
And how he kept Siemian in a deep drop against the UM pass rush until the 4th Q.
This was one battle the 'Cats were going to lose - O playcalling.

We have settled down pretty well since the opening couple drives. If we can hold UM to 21 first half points and steal a score for ourselves, we can be right back in the game with a score to open the second half.
This fanbase is FICKLE.
Why are we not more aggressive on punts? We know Shuler is either gonna waive it off or call for the fair catch....send them!
Not really. I love this team and think they will go on to win 9 plus games. Just not THIS game

True. But down 28-0 in the first half it would be tough to argue the refs are the main problem.
Over the years, PSU fans have whined about the refs when playing UM, but I'd say that the 'Cats have had it worse (not that it would change things too much).
Bigger issue is line play, kicking game and play-calling.
The staff (McCall in particular) bungled things against a Hoke-led UM, going to be a lot different going against a Harbaugh coached team w/ his too-notch staff.
In the final minutes of a first half...I honestly believe Fitz is THE worst coach in all of college football. F*ING TRY TO SCORE.
Sometimes the other team is just better. There is no doubt who the best team on the field is through the first half. I am not enough of a Pollyanna to believe that we can climb out of a 28 point hole (although there is that tiny voice) but hopefully we can get some things squared away in the second half and get some momentum going into next week.
That's not even up for debate. He is clearly the worst coach at the end of the first half.

What do Michigan State fans and Michigan fans have in common? Neither of them attended the University of Michigan.
I have scolded that clown, "Bubba", several times over the past couple years. From the main Rival boards, to Pitt, and either Iowa or Neb(forget which). He brings a bad name to our fans.

If you ever saw the movie The Replacements, I think "quicksand" resembles what happened to NW today.
NW isn't always the tops of the football world, but they sure help elevate the B1G's academic status, so it is nice to see you guys when you do get a season rewarding the good name you bring to the conference. Good Luck going forward.

The smaller liberal arts colleges get the big boost, in the 4 yr rankings, due to being able to be more exclusive in their freshmen selection.The bigger Universities make up for it with all the research being done at the grad level. Check your US news rankings on specific field ratings or overall University rankings on the world scale. You find not only is Michigan in the same ball park, but in numerous areas are actually ahead.
Michigan is top 21 University world wide, and top 10 in the far majority of disciplines offered in the USA. Over a Billion in research is done annually. NW landed 25 world wide. When they put the small class size into the criteria for 4 yr degrees, NW checks in at 12, while Michigan is 29.
If we look at the program rankings though without any other nominal criteria, there is no comparison.....Michigan blows NW away.

Actually, he has his hometown listed as "Flint". I live in a nice little town called "Flushing", which is on the outskirts of Flint. I grew up in Flint in 70s/80s. Pretty sad place these days.
Dude annoys the hell out of me. It is OK to throw a little chin music at folks, but geeze, he acts pre pubescent. Show a little class, or root for another team. If my degree was in psychology, and not Electronics, I might diagnose him as living vicariously through the team.
