Gonzaga has been to 8 straight sweet 16s. Their last 3 years (championship game, sweet 16. Elite Eight), are better than ours. Frauds is a bit harsh. But they cannot seem to win the big one.

What hurts Gonzaga is a weak conference slate for 2 months. They got blown about by UConn tonight, loss to an athletic Arkansas team last year, and blown out by Baylor in the national championship game in 2021. Them joining the Big 12 or at worst the Pac 12 would pay dividends for them.

Not trying to start an argument here, but I just heard there is one true freshman starter in the Elite Eight.

Yeah but they also played Mich St, Purdue, Kentucky, Baylor, Xavier and Alabama to offset that.....their problem may be the conference schedule but at least they try to play a tougher non-conference early season. A dilemma they cant really overcome

Denver, I know they play a tough non conference schedule in November and December, but while other schools are getting challenged in January and February by their conference foes, Gonzaga is not doing themselves any favors by only being challenged by Saint Mary’s for a couple games in their conference slate. If they went to a stronger conference, they would be accustomed to the athleticism and speed other teams pose once the ncaa tournament rolls around.

Gonzaga never really got the guard play they wanted. Timme and Swarther are very good. But Hickman, a former 5 star, has been terrible. Same with Sallis, another former 5 star. And Smith the transfer shooting guard was very inconsistent this year.
