-A potential Anselmo-Merna vs Burwell quarterfinal playoff matchup is intriguing.
-Howells-Dodge vs Dundy in the quarters too?!
-A Hitchcock County win would be their first win in the playoffs in school history.
-Can Cross County beat two undated teams in a row?

-Sandhills-Thedford gets a great seed line at number 1. I think they get to Lincoln without much of a problem.
-Tough draw for Kenesaw. If they get by FCSH they will match up at Humphrey St. Francis. Two traditional powers, are the Blue Devils legit? Or have they benefited from their schedule? (the Blue Devils didn't play one Divison 1 Point team all year.)
-Mullen could make some noise on that side of the bracket with their matchups.
-Showtime for Pender as they get traditional power BDS who has been there, done that.

Hitchcock County already won a playoff game last night. The round of 32 is still the playoffs in D1/D2.

Gah you are correct! I didn't treat yesterday's games as playoff games, but I know they count at the end of the day.

Congrats Hitchcock!

With the second year of re-seeding the brackets in 8 man football, I’m curious on what everybody’s take is on the state wide talent. I know a big complaint was that the west in previous years was not as competitive as the east. But do last years results change that opinion with Sandhills, Burwell, and DCS all in the championship? A brand new year this year I know but curious to know if that is still the general idea?

I think this year in Class D1 especially there are a ton of talented teams in almost every corner of the state. I love the reseeding for 8 man playoffs.

I think Weeping Water versus Cross County is the most intriguing matchup in the round of 16. Weeping Water has gotten a lot of love and Cross County has just kind of hung around all year.
