It’s a fair decision. I’ve said on multiple conversations that the system is set up as a subjective system, so the final decision based on the system is just a decision. Not a right decision and not a wrong decision. Just a decision.

Let’s be honest - Iowa is not good and that loss is the only loss this year more out of character for a team than nu losing to Duke

Agree about OSU. I'm intrigued, though, that it is automatically assumed that a 12-1 Wisconsin team that played for its league title and lost to two-loss Ohio State is a worse choice than an 11-1 Alabama team that didn't play for its league title and lost to three-loss Auburn. The SEC was not all that great this year, especially the Eastern Division where Georgia was about the only team with a pulse. Either get a real playoff system or go back to picking the national champions with the wire service polls and revert to the traditional bowl system.

I think that this decision undermines the importance of winning one's conference, and therefore of the entire regular season. I would have preferred USC, OSU, or even CFU to Alabama. After an exciting year, this is a shame for college football.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't a majority of the Committee members from the South and of those most from SEC country?

It also should cause the Big ten to rethink the 9 conference game schedule and the no FCS opponents on the schedule. The SEC has no such limitations and you could argue that contributed to Alabama edging out OSU.

From the beginning, when the Playoff Committee determined there would be 4 spots to be filled among 5 Conference Champions, the importance of a CC to the decision was made secondary. I said that last year when it benefitted OSU, and I say it again this year when it benefitted Alabama.

That was undermined last season when Ohio State went without even winning its division, and now it just got undermined again this year. Conference tournaments long ago destroyed the value of winning conference championships in basketball.

Or perhaps the playoff committee should judge strength of schedule as it's actually supposed to do.

That's fine. Always satisfying to see Bama get curb stomped. Although the TV network will be pissed when viewership (and ratings) of the Sugar Bowl begin to drop off the cliff. I'd guess around mid-3rd qtr.

I've never been sold on the SEC. Not until they play a nine game conference schedule, like the rest of the Power Five. Until that changes, then it should be acknowledged that their is a defacto bias in the system that unfairly favors that conference down South.

Would have helped if the 9th game OSU could have dropped was Iowa.

I believe now all 8 FBS Conference Champs should play in an 8 game playoff seeded by a certain criteria
