Official ‘26 PSU - Marshall Game Thread

I've been a leading proponent of players' rights, in terms of getting paid and freely transferring ... but I do have to admit it's been a weird experience in this first game. Having so many of the players be entirely new to PSU, I've found it tough to get excited for them, even as they're controlling this game. Hopefully this changes as I get more familiar with them in a PSU uni. When there is a "legacy" name announced, there's a tinge of excitement - "hey! I know him!"

That's better than those that left--no ill will or hate toward them but they're not here.
Just like I'll root for Martin if he transfers out next year (unless he's playing against us)

And we have a DLine who can make plays at the point of attack and stuff the run. Only vs Marshall but I like what I see so far.

The "7th year senior" is still the weirdest thing to me--thankfully that won't exist in the future

I largely stayed out of this thread because I was certain it'd be an absolutely atrocious and irrational Franklin v. Campbell comparative ... thanks for proving me correct, fellas. Entirely awful.

No, he said in his post that we would have been losing at halftime to teams like these over the last several years…not that he’s been posting it over the last several years.

Maybe they should make sure he stays by playing him.

It's one game, and they're playing at different points in the ballgame, so it's tough to compare, but Martin looks good, compared to the other 2 backs. I was expecting this year to be his year, and then the other 2 guys jumped on board and leapt over him on the depth chart, so perhaps I'm also a little biased ... but I hope he gets more shots to perform earlier in games to show what he can (and cannot) do. I wasn't seeing any "missability" or explosion from the other two, but that could also be a product of what they were told to do, and what Marshall was doing.

Promises made to transfer wr's? Pena was the slot, he was good, but didn't look quite this good.

The Martin comments are odd--is it just because he stayed? We all know who the top two backs are going to be
This is the equivalent (not as bad but close) to people wanting him to play last year
