Offensive line

[Hankp22]

I haven't read much of the board postgame but these guys deserve a thread. With two starters hurt and some others suspended, the line had some guys step and play good minutes. Stevens had a good pocket for the most part and our ground game was a force.

I know we played ULL and we will face better lines in the future. But I was impressed to see that many guys contribute. We went well into the depth chart.

I think we were actually playing the 4th string center at the end. Am I wrong on that?

Any word on seriousness of line injuries? We really need Williams.

I agree with your assessment. I'm glad to see someone looking at the positives from that game too. Too much negativity in my opinion. We didn't blow them out but overall I was satisfied.

For an opening week offense that was as crisp as I can remember an MSU offense being. Sure we've put more points on the board before but it looked to me like everyone knew where to be except for Guidry on a couple of routes.

Our OL looked like a middle of the pack SEC OL should look against a good Sun Belt/CUSA team

Which is pretty good since 3 starters were out to 2 only played a half.

I line did a great job.

These guys deserve another week.of discussion

The offensive line had another strong effort today. They continue to look impressive. That Southern defense has been good statistically lately. That was a decent early September test. Let's see what they do against a B12 front next week. The balance we have attacked with early has to be fun to block in.

Other notes:

1. I think Stevens had completed 7 passes at one point to 6 different receivers.

2. The pocket he had was unreal for the most part. I want to see our offensive line protect against an SEC front.

3. We had some young skilled football players play today. I think there's some players to be excited about these next few years.

4. I thought Marquiss Spencer played great. The defensive line was more active today. We still have a ways to go defensively but today was a step forward. And we continue to force turnovers. We have a few playmakers. We just need consistency on the inside.

RT had some issues and so did LG. But OL is solid so far. RB blocking though....

Short choppy steps boys. 4 yards at a time wins a ship. They are playing well for size. Still missing assignments but that will come in time.

Did Parker play?
