I’d have to rewatch the game, but my guess is Conrad probably is the weak link, and if you heard Jerald Foster’s comments, he seemed to want to call out a specific player but knew he couldnt.

That very well may be correct. However, I'm still shocked & thrilled to watch our Oline actually being aggressive. I could hardly believe it!

Both lines really impressed the hell out of me compared to what we saw last year. I can see how much they want it. We are on the right track. We just lack enough talent in some of our positions at this point. It is a process and is going to take some time.

Farmer needs to be at center. If you run an odd front, it’s easy to isolate and exploit a weak center. If you present 5 guys at or around the los, either run a bear front or muff your inside lbs on passing downs, O line will typically fan the protection

I do think one of the Freshman/lack-of-experience things was that AM seemed to hold on to the ball a little too long at times. Just a split second earlier here and there and that pressure doesn't get to him or he rips another big run.

The offensive line was very much improved. However... three observations:
1. They are still not good at picking up blitzes
2. Conrad was indeed pushed around quite a bit. He held his own for the most part, but there were several plays also where he got blown up. He needs to be demoted.
3. That said, perhaps the overall success of our line had a lot to do with his line calls as well. The value of a center often goes beyond his value as a blocker.

Are Austin/Frost committed to Conrad at center, or are they waiting for Wilson to earn the guard spot and have Farmer slide over?

I would assume they think they have the best configuration possible on the field.

I recall at one point, Conrad got injured and Farmer moved to center with Wilson or Raridon playing his guard spot. Later I noticed Conrad back in, with Wilson still playing guard. What was that about? Are the coaches looking to give several players looks, or possibly trying to wear down the d with multiple fresh linemen?

In the second half a did notice farniok wiff on a couple blocks. It appeared to me they lost the intensity they had in the first half. But still a vast improvement from last year and it takes a while for each player to keep from reverting back to bad habits

Wilson played a couple of series because he is the top backup Guard and will be the first to go in if Farmer or Foster go down or if Farmer moves to Center. The reps will ensure that he is ready if called upon.
