I can tell you how. Have to go long enough to enjoy things without it again. It took me over a year. I decided to smoke more and call it. Life’s too short. Good luck.
Recently went two months without any thc, which did make me realize I didn’t need it for many situations. I had never gone a week without it before that break, which was crazy to think about.

I always love hearing this take from the pro-weed crowd.

"It's not a drug.. i just uh.. use it pretty much the same way drugs are used".

I am very pro-legalization.. but I'm not so sure its a home-run decision across the board anymore. I live in an urban area, and you only have to go a few blocks to get to what's essentially the ghetto. So naturally both areas spill into each other. And the amount of ghetto cars driving by with weed smoke coming out, smelling like gross blunts.. is alarming, and not to mention, should be punished the same as a DUI. I don't think legalization recreational weed is a net positive for the ghettos. Maybe less arrests, which is a good thing.. but it just leads to more zombies.. more youths who are clearly spending their entire day high.

It's the same as alcohol, if you can't use it in moderation, it will eventually be a problem. You can't use these things to forever procrastinate your life.
Sounds like somebody has seen Reefer Madness 🤣. It’s nothing like alcohol. About the only ppl who make that comparison are those who have never tried it, but, are eager to judge. There has never been one overdose in the history of weed smoking. It doesn’t turn ppl into bumbling idiots, who lose their inhibitions, or, don’t know what they’re doing as they puke everywhere & piss the bed. No hangovers, either. Although, you might get a tad hungry, thirsty, or, paranoid. It doesn’t make ppl loud, obnoxious ********, thieves, or, whores, who will do anything to get it. You don’t empty your bank account to get more. There are no withdrawals. It has several medical benefits. I’ve never met one person who became a mindless zombie or had their life spin out of control bc they smoked too much weed. I’d imagine those types have other habits, in addition to weed. At least, in my experiences, that’s the case. I’ve smoked every day for 25+ years & would gladly compare IQs, any time. Just an ignorant take that sounds like it came from a grandmother in 1955.

I'm not talking about it killing you lol. I'm talking about it turning 99% of people into mindless blobs, not all that different than what alcohol does, honestly.

Doesn’t happen. I’ll tell you when it’s a problem. Young kids. I almost ruined my life because I couldn’t get going, because I couldn’t pass drug screens. And quitting was really hard. Weed is fine, we just need to keep it away from young kids until they’re old enough to have control.

Other than that weed is weak, it doesn’t do anything you are thinking it does, and it has so many benefits.

You're kind of answering your own question here.

When people can't go a day without it, then it's a problem. You're talking about how it became so engrained in you that you "couldn't quit". But you were able to see the problem of moderation and (hopefully) curtailed it.

And guys, please don't trying and lie to everyone here that you're smoking weed for the "health benefits". No one is buying that.

I didn’t explain enough.

It’s because I started way too young and had a mental addiction to it to curve my personal problems. After several attempts I didn’t have that problem anymore. Don’t even smoke everyday anymore.

Just keep it from kids and there won’t be a problem at all. And there are many benefits to smoking it, I don’t have to take Xanax because it calms my nerves if I don’t over smoke. You should look into cancer patients and how much they appreciate the value.

Pills and alcohol are the problem. Weed is not a problem, just be smart around the kids. I hate seeing parents smoking with their 15 year olds.

We all have anecdotal evidence here. The 5 of us were burners from late high-school all the way to the first year or two post grad. 3 of us eventually quit (more or less), and the other 2 didn't. They're both mid 30s burnouts. One is literally off the grid and the other been working minimum wage at the beer distributor and looks homeless.

They needed to wake up and smoke, smoke before bed, and everything in between. Can't do that and function in society. Same goes for booze.

What? You just said you smoke weed before anything you need to do, and the next post you said you don't need it every day.

Grom, how high are you right now? Lol.

I’m trying to watch these games. Let me explain again. And yea I’m smoking right now.

I mean I CAN smoke before anything IMPORTANT I need to do. As in it doesn’t stop anything I do and I’m excelling at a high level doing it. I’ve seen the problem you’re talking about and it’s due to a mental addiction that isn’t that hard to overcome really. If someone is an adult and is allowing weed to destroy their life I can assure you there’s something else going on. It’s not the weed, they’ve got a problem somewhere else. It’s not even debatable. Unless they started very young and have an intense mental addiction to it. And it’s easily curable.

Active duty so I can’t….if I had a job where I could I’d probably smoke/edible every now and then as I prefer it to drinking bc I have to drink very heavily to feel anything…for that reason I voted “occasionally” as it’s mindset based instead of jobrestriction

It’s not addictive in that way. I choose to smoke every day. But, I could quit, easily, if I needed to. I don’t HAVE to have it. Nowadays, I mostly only smoke at night, to help me sleep. But, I don’t have an urge, all day long, counting down the minutes til I pack the bowl. For the last 5-7 years, I’ve been smoking much less than I used to. But, even when I did smoke 4-5 times/day, I never felt like I couldn’t go without it. You might WANT some. But, there are no withdrawal symptoms like the ones associated with opiate/alcohol addicts. It’s amazing for stress & depression, too. You wouldn’t believe how much it saves my sanity during UK games. Helps you to really lock in, too.

Always said if it was legal I would quit drinking. So, don’t drink now and newer wake up hung over. Went 22 yrs in Navy without it, but enjoy taking a hit every now or then.

Really didn't vote because I don't really fall under any of those categories.
Have probably a dozen times in my life and haven't in probably over a decade.
I mean that's not "never," and it seems like a lot less than " occasionally."
I think I need a "once in a blue moon" category.
Should've had a "Tried it" category

But people can still be addicted to what COMES with doing a drug, even if the drug itself isn't addictive on it's own. Coffee isn't addictive by nature (or not for me at least), but I'm "addicted" to the idea of hitting up starbucks right before work and enjoying the process and atmosphere. Same with alcohol.. I can go weeks without it. But there's something "addicting" about plopping down at a bar, 4pm on a Friday, no responsibilities to worry about and having a shot and a beer.

Seems to me smoking 4-5 times a day, says that during this time in your life, you were "addicted" to what being high offered you, no?

Anyways, I think all that can be true for some. Weed has helped me sleep, but it did a number on my anxiety.. everyone is different. But there sure are a lot of people who are spending their entire day stoned. The Ghettos are a mess. People are just driving around blowing weed smoke at all times. Not only should that be punished the same as drunk driving (don't try and tell me driving high is any safer lol), but it says these people are likely just high at all times of day. That's a problem to me.

I used to smoke it every day, when I was 21-22 years old.
I tired of it and grew out of it.
I'm 70 years old now and haven't smoked it in well over forty (40) years.

I will gladly admit it definitely enhanced sexual experiences with increased sensitivity. Music, too.
I missed that for a while, until I went tantric.

I do think it less harmful than excessive drinking of alcohol.
Nothing like a warm donut at 2:00AM when you're high.
