Had a chance to do something new/unique and went with boring. Disappointment
What exactly did they do?

I enlarged the photographs and did notice the subtle I in the black along the sidelines. Flashy doesn't fit the program and I agree this looks nice and maintains the brand. I think the bigger impact will come when they change the seating and get the students closer to the court. You can modernize and still keep things traditional.I noticed they did change the "Iowa Hawkeyes" along the baselines to a gold outline only, rather than solid gold. And there is a subtle "I" pattern throughout the black sections outlining the court that is a nice touch. (You can see it easily if you get a larger view of the photos.)
Overall, looks fine. I wasn't opposed to a more significant change, but this keeps everything very on-brand, which I'm sure was the goal.
That's called "the I test"!Put some I’s on the border that nobody can see
Enough to initiate or complete the build?Donations for the build are already procured.
Can't tell whether the "22" record-breaking shot marker is in place. Can anyone confirm?Enough to initiate or complete or the build?

They should take the UI property that has the Womans softball field and track that stretches to the bottom of Hawkins Dr. Develop it with Bars and resturants. Think Big Grove. It would be a place to gather to party/eat prior to and after games. Close enough to get to Kinnick walking.Essentially... It's much more cost effective to make improvements to Carver, spend the money on players, and maybe develop an area for a few bars/restaurants closer to Carver/Kinnick.
I haven't been there lately, but did they not think of making the first floor of the new parking ramps have space for some bars/restaurants?
Maybe a Bridge to CHA too, Jaime? They should take the UI property that has the Womans softball field and track that stretches to the bottom of Hawkins Dr. Develop it with Bars and resturants.
