I would disagree with Smoot on some things but why would we not celebrate our big Dawgs? We definitely should reach out to them, invite them back. Its good for 'crootin and many other things. Im sure Dak and Simmons and Chris could give some helpful pointers. Canes were big on that back in the day. It was awesome to see their NFL guys on the sideline at games hanging out with Luke Skywalker.

Well, they were going to South Beach, you do know there is a big difference. I love Starkville but it's not exactly South Beach.

I suspect that Smoot doesn't feel like he's gotten enough love. That's just a sign of how long ago he played. Not contemporary enough to be a guy who is around all the time based on current leadership relationships, not old enough to be brought in emeritus style.
