At the beginning of the season we looked at the next three games as possible wins. I know that the D has really shattered a lot of our hopes this year but I contend it's still not outside the realm of possibility that we can win these games and clinch another bowl bid..
If we do that does all the fire GS talk fade away? So many of our regular posters do tend to over react at times.
I can probably guess most of your answers but I'd still like to hear them.

#1, he isn't going anywhere anyway thanks to his buyout.
#2, no it wouldn't change my feelings about needing a change. I'd just feel less crappy. 3 - 6 in league and beating the same teams vs. breaking thru on an Iowa or even a messed up PSU would have been/be helpful.

The D has regressed year after year and the offense while statistically improved has the same issues.
Since B1G play KM's stats and ratings has shown significant decline. ST are even worse. 4 TDs and 5 ints. Guy has had the ball in his had for 53 "rushes" (which I know include sacks) and has a grand total of 3 yards. 46 points per game first 3 is now 21 in league.

Special teams faltering too. Development and coaching. That's far more the issue for me than the record.

Some of the message board dogs might be called off if they beat Purdue, Illinois, Maryland, and PSU, but if that happens, I would wonder why they couldn't beat Iowa and Minnesota.

GS wont be fired/retained based on message board commentary, however if he wins 3 games and takes us to a bowl ? Of course he would be staying. And of course the GS fans would be saying - I told you so and the GS haters would be saying - He should go because we should be better. So really nothing will change.

The people who hate GS are the people who hate GS. You could cover the names and I could match the poster to the comment without fail and I'm sure most could. If we went undefeated rest of the way they'd whine.

I think we can beat Purdue, MD and Cult. I would say that's a good season, not great but good.

He's not being fired this year nor should he be. It would be one losing season after 2 pretty good ones and lots of good ones historically. And we're not rolling in money and Zinn and Tate are not gambling on a no name.

LOL…another in a neverending list of ifs.

If the ocean might freeze solid tomorrow, anything is possible including winning out, yes including OSU.

No worries Lotus…you know you won’t have anything to wonder about.

I;ve been a strong Greg 1&2 supporter
When G1 left I was disappointed but felt he was losing part of the fanbases full support because he failed to move RU into a constant top 25 program and the fans were starting to turn on him.
So it was a wise move to get ahead of pitchforks being picked up by a crowd that felt it was time for him to go
over his not reaching the expectations they had for the program, even if it was him that made those expectations possibly by raising Rutgers out of the gutter .

I was one of the hire back Schiano people that felt he could move the program back to respectability .
I feel he did, but it's now regressing and I question if he's capable of ever making Rutgers better than just being a program that challenges for minor bowl bids but never is good enough for better the way he runs his program.
I wouldn't be mad if he was replaced and would understand if his buyout might prevent Zinn from doing so.

But I would be utterly pissed if Greg2 ws fired and Rutgers went for an on the cheap replacement like it did when G1 left for the pro game.
I say build a build a war chest towards getting the next HC everything needed to bring the RU FB program into top 25 status and keep Schiano until the money was right and then let him go .
If he proves himself before that happens, I'd be very happy, because I appreciate what Greg has accomplished, but fear that's all he's able to do and I want better.
