I love Coach Walz, (for my money the best coach in America) but I have watched almost every second of our season and I do have couple observations and concerns.

-we currently are not a deep team. We are playing predominately 6 players with the departure of SJones. That is not as concerning as it seems, these tournament games offer plenty of rest and we have some players who are versatile and can play couple of positions. Foul trouble would really cook us in a game, however.

-we really take our foot off the gas on offense with any kind of 4th Q lead. As we all know, we have lost several big home games this year by trying to milk the clock. I don't get it, we are executing on offense and grab a decent lead then we have Taj or Reyna dribble at mid court as shot clock winds down putting us in a one on one situation and we aren't great at that. We only scored 15 in the 4th today and after getting what we wanted on offense prior plus we were killing them on the offensive boards.

Good observations! I’d also say that the shorter bench with the way Coach Walz demands great effort on defense means tired legs later in the game. Can affect shooting and especially free throw shooting, which we saw yesterday.

I have noticed that often and there is a term for that statergy. It is we are playing not to lose instead of playing to win. The problem with this is it always seems to take away your momentum.
