Lee, is ready! Time for PT! Ulis is the best floor general in the country! Skal best prospect in country! Matthews stud! Humphries, couple years away from NBA prospect. Murray one word stud top 5 prospect next years NBA draft. Alex is Alex does he want to be a pro. Briscoe has work to do on his game. For what it's worth my scouting!

I agree with the comments about Pel's accent----he's invented himself one. Nothing wrong with using proper grammar, but whew!!!

A bit too many 1 handed passes from Matthews, still he is very athletic.

I've really been surprised by how much better Willia is. Tasty crow for dinner for me.

Is it just me or does Matthews play with a little chip on his shoulder? I love it!

Leaps and bounds better than last year. Of course it's a scrimmage, but he hasn't really made any of those silly mistakes from the last few years. I think he can give the team some valuable minutes.

Humphries probably got more trips up and down the court than he was ready for.

So I see that free throws are going to be a BIG problem if they don't start practicing shooting free throws...

He has seemed to just lack offensive and defensive awareness in his first 2 seasons. Plus he's been playing behind like 5 first rounders.

He can shoot. He's athletic. He'd probably be one of those mid major guys you always hear about if he played for wku.

Will he ever put it all together here? Who knows.

Started out with the jitters. Hope he continues to work hard and get a piece of the pie this year. This team has a lot of people who can shoot, and I love it. The more the merrier.

He had 21 points and 8 rebounds 2 years ago in this game...and nothing really came from it. Having said that, he did look good tonight, and seemed to play with more confidence. If he can hit 3's at a high clip he will get some run (same with Mulder).

Dykes said when Willis was a freshman he could be a pro one day and he wasn't wrong . If you are 6'9 can shoot and dunk like that there is a chance . A small one but a chance.

Anyone else concerned with the low scoring? 2012 box score was like 124-110 or something like that. Or do you think tonight they were playing defense better?

"Will he ever put it all together here? Who knows."

I think he has it together, just too much in front of him on his teams. He will make an nba team without getting to play in college.

when cal says not tough next to the basket and then explains poythress' injury. he's basically saying skal/lee/humphries need to man up. a title may ride on skal' development imo. if it's anything like every center cal's had here then we will be scary by year's end. our offense will be great, but our anchor whether that's poythress or skal is not ready to be seriously tough. and for ok reasons. lee is going to cover a lot of holes early in the year while poythress and skal are still coming along.

Didn't read a post in this thread so forgive me if I'm repeating other peoples takes.

1. Marcus Lee struggles in the haflcourt are really glaring.

2. Im leaning towards Isaac, who continues to show offensive skill, playing over Lee.

3. Mulder's 3 ball is as good as advertised.

4. We saw the downside of the 3 guards in the 2nd half. When one controlled the ball, the remaining 2 stood and watched. Stagnant.

He'll see some minutes at the 4 if he rebounds. Not sure Cal will trust him as a wing- not with Matthews looking so comfortable out there as the primary backup.

Willis is really a rebounding skill away from being a decent rotation player.

Willis since his freshman year has been offensively gifted enough to play so 21 pts in the B/W game 2 years ago just showed his skill set. But its always been his defense that has kept him off the court. His defense tonight was vastly improved over the past 2 years.

The big Aussie brings a physical presence to the paint. He can give us a valuable few 3-4 minutes a half. He is a little better than I thought.
