With the 15 day Martha Vineyard trip this month, which will be over 2 million, they will go over 100 million since taking office. The most by any president. Obama has spent more than 71 million more than Bush presidency on personal vacations. Michelle Obama has spent more on her personal vacations than Bush.

Well we're movin' on up, to the east side. To a deluxe apartment in the sky. Movin' on up, to the east side. We finally got a piece of the pie.

Other than the insane amount of spending, I always laugh when people complain about Obama playing golf or going on vacation. You don't want Obama in the White House, but you don't want him to leave either. Can't have it both ways. The more time he spends not doing his job, the better. Kinda like how we paid CTB to not coach our football team.

Yes, but inflation has averaged about 1.9% since Obama took over, which I don't think amounts to the $71 million that was mentioned.

in his defense, some of this is just going to come down to taste... Bush riding around his ranch in an SUV is a lot cheaper for the secret service than a Hawaiian vacation, the chicago home visit, or the martha's vineyard. Can't say i have any problem with this.

You see, this is the type of ******** that creeps into a football board! We have multiple responses to a statement that, without any data or confirmation of accuracy, is taken as the absolute truth! OP, can you please humor us and present your FACTS surrounding this point, especially regarding the point on Michelle's vacations alone costing more than Bush in total???

Oh, and please don't say, "it must be true, I heard it on FOX News".

And as someone said above, please normalize the data for inflation. You do know what that means right? Being that you are a numbers man.

LOL. I love posts like this. You guys do realize those numbers are absurdly inflated, right? They include things like the salaries of Secret Service agents and the Air Force 1 pilots which would be paid anyway. Second, W was in office for 8 years and spent over 2 years of it on vacation but that, at the time, we were told that it was no big deal because the President "never really gets away on vacation."

As of President Obama's last two week vacation, President Obama has taken exactly 125 days vacation since he started office. At the same point, George W. Bush had taken 407 days vacation. I don't remember any of you guys bitching about that. (Source: FactCheck.com)
