If you were to give him a rating what would that be?
Obama?

Bottom 5 of all of our Presidents. Probably the worst to be honest on strictly his handling of the VA, his divisiveness, his geopolitical strategy, and his massive breach of our 4th amendment rights. There’s a whole bunch of other small stuff to tack on there, but he was terrible.

I have no problem with the ACA. Could they have done a better job, absolutely. You do understand that the Gov gave out guidelines to insurance companies, they are the ones controlling ACA. Without the ACA you will have more uninsured people going to hospitals for minor issues and a lot of them never pay a dime which cost the hospitals which raises healthcare cost for the rest of us.

How you feel about Social Security? That's a big SOCIALIST program, bigger than the ACA was/is. I guess you want to get rid of that as well.

FYI...I was in healthcare when the ACA was signed. In 2015 I was a consultant for hospitals after the ACA was passed....The ACA threw money at states to lower the threshold for citizens to be eligible for state Medicaid...most bit and took the money....The ACA stated that by 2016, the states had to start paying 20% (only) of the cost that the Feds were funding...When 2016 hit, not one state in the US had the money to comply and the Feds kept funding it after it expired.

I was actually at the South Carolina Hospital Assoc CEO meeting right after Trump won...SC did not accept the money (as well as most southern states) and they basically shut it down as their strategic plan was no longer valid (they bet that HRC would win and continue to expand the ACA).

They shifted gear and worked on how to secure block grants (they thought Trump would go in that direction) and force the feds to acknowledge that since they did not take any money moving forward that it was inequitable for states like SC who managed their healthcare better than other states.

And yes, WE paid for that healthcare...and we paid for it prior to the ACA...if just came from a different gov. fund

The ACA was written to fail. The people who wrote it thought they'd still be in power and the public would welcome what the dems always wanted, universal health care. Didn't work out that way. The only increase in covered people are those on medicaid. Docs will eventually quit seeing medicaid cause the reimbursement is so low.

I think the ACA was written to fail. The dems thought they'd still be in power and would swoop in and deliver Universal care. Didn't work out that way. Medicaid is the big winner.

Sorry, meant this to be in another post. Interesting response though.

VA as a whole has been messed up for years. Way before Obama took office.

VA - I use the VA and it all comes down to which one you use. The one in Salem, VA is great. Maybe too good. They hound you with text msgs, mail, etc... to ensure you make your appointments.

You do understand that the mass-metadata-surveillance program was started under Bush after 9/11. Obama had the chance to end it but never did.

Yes, I’m not a fan of Bush either. The Patriot Act is arguably one of the worst things we’ve done as a Govt. And bulk surveillance significantly increased under Obama until he got caught through the Snowden release. Then, it tampered down, a little, but the FISC just became a rubber stamp with the new rules.

The VA drastically improved under Trump. The **** that was going on under Obama in the VA was quite literally, criminal.

Roanoke, Va. for now. Once I retire I will be headed back to WV. Only 3-6 more years depending on my 401K.

Lol...a bunch of folks that supported Trump trying to criticize other president's.

It would be even funnier if it wasn't so sad and dangerous.

Alas...its become painfully obvious that there is no antidote for the delusion these folks live under.

I really hoped January 6th would wake most these folks up...but instead insurrections turned out to be no big deal as long as they were in the name of the biggest lie in our nation's history. It's dangerous the way some folks principles are simply based on what 1 man says...even if he's lied to them literally thousands of times before. That kind of blind loyalty is how democracies end.

The only other place I've seen anything resembling that kind of malleability of principles is from Penn State Alums and their dismissal of decades of pediaphilia as not that big of a deal. Its also frightening but not as consequential.

Credibility will still matter over the long term...and folks that can't come to terms with mistakes they have made and judgements that failed will carry those crosses until they see the light of their errors. So for many...itll be never.

There is simply no ability to feel shame in the MAGA crowd. Not enough strength to admit errors. And not enough IQ points to compete in the market place of ideas.

Attacking perceived enemies is all thats left...and even that has been relegated to off-topic message boards on university sports web sites.

Yes, the VA was out of control. A lot was hidden by the VA Hospitals administrators. How can you fix something if you do not know it was broken. I know that is not a good excuse but lets be fair. What did the previous two presidents do to help the VA? I got out of the military in 95 and I refused to use the VA even though I am listed as 50% disabled. It was really bad back then as well.

Where did I say that? If the gov. could have kept their hands off of SS it would be much better but that money is already spent and like everything else the taxpayers have to work longer.

My retirement age is now 67...although I paid the exact same amount as my friends who can retire at age 65...I will get the exact same benefits...but paid into it for an additional two years....and yes, I maxed out my holdings most of my life.

A better question, is Medicare for all the best healthcare option for the US?

Right now, Medicare sets pricing for insurance companies because they set the minimum price for a drug or procedure...same goes for hospital fees and charges...Insurance companies make their money administering the claims, and PBM's manage the pharmacy side...not setting the price of what they charge, but they do pay more than Medicare to gain better access for their members.

Lol.

I’ve blistered your *** on more than one occasion. I’ve actually yet to see you successfully defend your positions on more than a few occasions. You’re just some partisan hack who pretends to be righteous.

Jan 6th was a bunch of hicks who stormed the Capitol and didn’t know what to do afterwards. The best they could come up with was taking a **** on Pelosi’s desk and not a single firearm amongst them. Worst coup ever.

Meanwhile, I’ve completely missed your condemnation of the Biden administration locking kids in cages.

No problem with people protesting. It was the ones who entered Congress (WHILE IN SESSION). I have to disagree about a bunch of hicks. See link to see exactly who has been arrested. Some military, police, doctors, etc... Don't think they fall into the hick category.

General term. You’d have had to understand Losts previous positions about this being an attempted Coup of blood thirsty Hitler youth. Despite their professional lives, these folks were mostly caught up in the moment. It wasn’t some strategic assault on liberty.

I agree, the ones who entered the Capitol deserve whatever criminal convictions they get. I’m not supportive of that. I’m just saying, if it was what Lost portrays it, they’d have done a hell of lot more than pose for pictures, steal the podium, sit in Pence’s seat and **** on Pelosi’s desk.

Actually, I want to amend my statement. I’m fully supportive of the guy who **** on Pelosi’s desk. That’s maybe the greatest thing I’ve ever heard of. That’s just awesome on so so many levels. I laugh every time I think about it.

When Obama first starting picking brackets as POTUS I thought it was cute and fun. I've completely changed my mind. It's a power grab using soft power. People should object when a POTUS does this and especially when a former POTUS does it. But the problem is, that people that are supposed to be watchdogs on this kind of stuff, the media, are in bed with the perps of it because they both gain money and power from it.

A good example of this was the 2012 White Correspondents Dinner when Trump was doing his ridiculous Obama birth certificate and the press made a big deal about how noble it was for Obama to be present at the same time as our military was getting bin Laden....as if he was sacrificing by being there instead of not present at the White House during a very important time to out instead and do a silly dinner.

Why is there a White House correspondents dinner? To get power for the White House correspondents. Why does a POTUS go to it? Soft power, as well as influence with the media by honoring them with his presence. This should be the kind of thing the media objects to, except they don't BECAUSE THEY'RE THE ONES DOING IT!!!

Former Presidents ought to come out now and then for a fundraiser for a hurricane or the funeral of a prominent person and that's it. They're not POTUS anymore so they should go away. This diatribe doesn't have to do with Obama specifically but with all former POTUS's.

Agree. The bigger POS ‘s are the ******* posters who post **** like that on this board!
Anyone can re-write history to the unintelligent/ignorant masses. O lived through the Obama nightmare and there was little to hold up as positive actions to benefit the American public. Worst President maybe in the history of USA--hard to compare when we really have had some very poor residents of the White House. Trump was such an exception to Obama and his totally failed administration. I care not what some buffoon may chose to write with no regard for history and facts of his 8 years!
