The Grizz head into tonight's game on a 4 game skid. They've won just 3 games, so if the Cards don't sleep walk through this one, it should be a W. First game of the season on ACCN. Let's put on a show.

Fun fact about Oakland, which Moth will undoubtedly mention during the radiocast, the university was founded by the Dodge widow in 1957. Yes, that Dodge. They were initially under MSU's umbrella, then known as Michigan State University- Oakland. They gained independence in 1970.

Go Cards.

Lessman starting. Makes me wonder about Hartman. Is he going this weekend?

Ump behind the plate has a zone that’s a little inconsistent.

Looks like lackluster pitching again for Louisville, though at least these two lefties getting drilled in the 4th inning were throwing strikes and not walking the bases loaded.

Can someone explain why these announcers that call these college baseball games, apparently don't know that the pitchers do not call their own pitches?

Doesn't matter who the announcers are. They make comments and even sometimes judge the pitcher for what pitch he throws. Don't most teams now call the pitches from the dugout? Of course some top level hurlers may choose what to throw, but its definitely the pitching coach for Louisville.

Hartman taking the mound. Tells me he is not the guy for Saturday (probably Sunday due to weather). My guess is Cutts now.
I wonder if Gregor had a minor injury or something. He looked good but was pulled.

Well, since Biven threw last night, there goes that. Cutts or West, maybe moving Michael to Saturday. I did hear today that they fealt pretty good that Parker's injury wasn't serious. Let's hope he's able to get back soon.

Overall, I'm liking what I'm seeing from these rookie pitchers. Mac loosening the belt a little and getting these guys some experience. Once the league games start,we'll need everybody and anybody.

No problem in my book to rest Detmers this weekend. I doubt Tucker would start. If there is a dbl-header Sunday then I really do expect Cutts to go in one of the games. Much better showing for Gay tonight. I mean, they all did pretty well were there some hits? Yes. Good batting approach by Oakland. Our pitchers hung in there land did some good work though.

Hopefully, his hard hitting ways go unnoticed by certain SEC teams looking to poach (and pay) players.
He genuinely looks happy here, which I can't say for Kilen. He's got to understand that he's getting paid in a big way in a little over 2 years from now. Tbs,the ball's in our court to keep him happy. We can't match the $$$ being thrown around by the $ec but we can make sure he feels more at home here than anywhere else.
You know, aside from that swing,he's already one of the better 1st basemen I can remember over here.
