Are they still producing bigtime talent? It seems I haven't heard of any bigtime recruits coming out of there in hand full of years. It seemed they use to have 2-3 Burger boys coming out of there every year?

There's several more of that type of school now, makes getting players a little tougher.
Would you rather got to a prep in Vagas or N. Jersey.........or Oak Hill in the middle of nowhere

They did go undefeated 45-0 and are number 1

they did give us D. Lamb

they still get players, but as others have mentioned, there are a lot more prep schools now for the kids to choose from

I used to go to Oak Hill basketball camp every summer and it was amazing, I went in the last 90's and early to mid 2000's, not many people attended, and the players were our counselors, and all kinds of cool coaches and instruction from Steve Smith, it was really fun, and great from a basketball standpoint too

Who were some of the players blue? Was Curtis Staples there then, or had he already went to Virginia?

The main thing that's happened to them is Findlay Prep. A ton of guys who would have considered Oak Hill are now ending up at Findlay. There's also the charter-school thing, as some of those schools are focusing on assembling high-level talent from their areas, so guys don't have to move away from home to play with and against great competition.

If you look at the top 25 guys for the 2016 class, to the best of my knowledge only 12 of the ESPN top 25 go to what I would call "normal" high schools, either local public schools, or local, traditional, mainly catholic private schools. The rest go to places called "prep", or "academy", or just "school" (not high school).

A little related trivia

Oak Hill basketball coach Steve Smith has Kentucky ties. He is a graduate of Asbury University (probably then Asbury College) in Wilmore and also got his masters at EKU.
