Outside of Oscar that was an abysmal first half. We have not played particularly well since the KU game
Like I said earlier today, we play great in hostile arenas, and down to the competition at home.
Could have easily been up 9 or 10, 7 at worst, but low IQ plays to end the half means only a 5 point game at halftime. Frustrating. They have no business being in this game. Hopefully our players realize that in the second half.
Good news is the straw that stirs the drink will be back for the 2nd half so hopefully they run Florida out of the gym!
Brooks needs a motivational memo/reminder in his locker that says, “hey man, don’t forget you can jump 40” into the air and everytime you’ve done that consistently in a game you’ve looked like an All-American”

Terrible end of the half. Cal makes a great line-up choice putting Oscar and Ware in the game at the same time and we rebuild our lead to 9. Then had 2 or 3 straight possessions to get it to double digits. Just couldn't get it. From there,it was all down hill. Gady's decision to take that last 3 when we could have ran the clock down and taken the last shot, was terrible.
We would prefer he shoot more and not just stand there waiting for the ball to cycle to him and hope his man left him to double someone, but every single UK fan knew that last shot was dumb. It was taken at the wrong time and Florida got 2 easy points out of it.
Isn't that incredible ! Of course, that's when Florida went to a zone. I don't see why any U.K. opponent doesn't play zone against us the whole way.
Also, when FL went to a Zone, all at once we couldn’t get a decent shot. If not for Tshiebwe’s rebounding and hustle, we’re behind in the score at half.

Yes, I agree they were stupid fouls but we were blowing them out with him on the floor. Cannot sit him 13 minutes. Whole momentum changed. Sit him several minutes and let him play and if he picks up 3 THEN sit him for the second half. It's just so stupid having this concrete 2 fouls and done rule.
All I ever see him to is post threads from Twitter and cry all game long.
