Huskers lost the opener 4-2 but they scored two runs in the 9th so they have excellent momentum heading into Game 2. The between-games instruction they receive will be second to none, so NU will surely win the next two games which is almost as good as a sweep. By golly, let's just go ahead and call it a road sweep right now, just to show how confident we are in our hometown nine and that winning isn't everything.

Did I do that right?

Forgot to include that no one hates losing more than DE and I didn’t see the word ‘grit’ anywhere
Thanks for the tips. I'm on the waiting list to try on the World Series ring and I'm hoping to jump up a few spots!

You misunderstood. He meant to "kiss" the ring.

Honestly...once people forget what an amazing coach DVH was things will be better.

The Big Ten Sucks for baseball...no one cares about baseball...just let it go.

I don't want to forgot how amazing DVH was, or Rob Childress for that matter. That era was some of the most fun I have ever had as a Husker fan - especially when they played at The Buck.

I don't expect Erstad or anyone else to duplicate that success, or even come close. I'm just tired of watching abject mediocrity and being told by the slobbering fanboys that we HATERZZZZ don't appreciate what a damn fine coach Erstad is. At this point I don't really care if he stays or he goes, but the program is underperforming.

I'm noticing a sharp decline around news sites/social media in those types. Funny how a loss to a 19-22 team currently sitting at 11th in the conference can do that. Of course, if Nebraska wins the next two games (which I think can happen? Maybe?), they'll be back at it asking where all the doubters are so, it's fun. I guess.

It’s possible, but not likely. We did sweep Penn State, Purdue and Michigan State. This fueled our 10-2 start that got some thinking it might be different this year

Well, whatever is not working it is the head coach that is accountable. As it should be.
Ummmm...the head coach is the hitting coach at NU. Of course he's also the guy who didn't pinch hit for a kid batting under .150 I've never even heard of in a game in I think it was the 6th inning when we had a couple of ducks on the pond......

so Is there a possibility that nu misses the big 10 tournament again?
No I don't see any way that happens. Not sure NU could plunge to 9th place even if their current struggles continue.

And since they did manage to miss the conference tournament last year, making it in 2019 will be hailed as excellent progress!

I've almost thrown in the towel on this under preforming Husker baseball team.

Is it getting to be time for a coaching change? Only ADBM knows.

The crazy thing is what our record would be against conference tournament teams if the field was established today...

3-6 Overall
- 1-2 against each Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois

9-1 against conference teams not in the field
- 3-0 against each Michigan State, Purdue, and Penn State
- 0-1 against Northwestern

Talk about the schedule makers padding our record.

True, but Nebraska most likely will have played everyone in the top 6 except Indiana..

They are only losing these games because fans are grumbling on message boards and comment sections. Part of Erstad's preparation every game is to have the players read all the message boards and comment sections, and we're hurting their feelings.
Seems to be working

Well the deck is clearly stacked against our boys again today, as they are down 7-1 in the 8th inning. It's tough taking on a Northwestern team that has all kinds of advantages, which I won't go into now but we all know this is true. Win the finale tomorrow and we shall give our nine a hearty hip hip hooray!

Hopefully we show fight and score a couple runs to make this a little closer. We just need a moral victory and I’m good.

Yep, those darn B1G recruiting rules strike again. I just don't know how we are even able to function as a program with those B1G recruiting rules holding us back.

And the raucous road environments our boys have to play in! Yesterday there were 576 people there, and some of them weren't even players' parents!

Final now, 10-2.

Hard to win when you have as many errors (3) as hits.

Northwestern had a slight edge in hits, with 16.
That brings our team BA to a blistering .254 on the season. I bet teams cringe when theyhave to face these Erstad trained “murderers row” lineups.
