Yeah he pulled down six boards per game as a junior, which was his most healthy year. Looks like a useful player, assuming he can stay on the court.A big body with a history of knee injuries. Hopefully he stays healthy, if he does he could fill the role that Allick did last year.
He started he Junior year all games, this year he had knee surgery and sat out the first half of the year. Then he played in the final 17 games... didn't start, played 16 minutes a game. I am not excited about this get at all and we are settling because we didn't Sutton and AusarWatch a lot of basketball mostly B1G, SEC and big 12, so I have no idea if this guy is a good get besides getting a player in the paint.

When have a Dollar Store NIL this stuff happens.24/7 Sports didn’t even give him a point value in their rankings. That right there tells you all you need to know.
And unfortunately for Fred, probably his last at NU.I usually get pretty involved in the hoops games. I think next season I’m going to be watching without much expectations.
UNL clearly is not willing/able to invest the resources needed to have a competitive men's basketball team. It makes little sense for them to pay a coach this high of a salary for the results they have been getting. And unfortunately for Fred, probably his last at NU.
Huskers are coming off the heels of consecutive 20+ win seasons including an NCAA tourney bid. Second best two year stretch in 130-year history of basketball at Nebraska. Support for Fred and for Husker men's basketball should continue to grow under Fred's direction. Let's get off the coaching carousel.UNL clearly is not willing/able to invest the resources needed to have a competitive men's basketball team. They should probably go find some mid-major coach who has had a lot of success developing good teams/rosters, but maybe is a bit on the older side and so hasn't garnered any major interest.
I would love nothing more than to support Fred. I honestly think he is an above average coach, but you got to recruit better to get better. Some really like this class of portal players. HHC regulars say "We didn't replace Williams and Gary but we upgraded 3-10 significantly.Huskers are coming off the heels of consecutive 20+ win seasons including an NCAA tourney bid. I’m worn out with all the lack of support/dollar store NIL/the school doesn’t care about basketball excuses. Fred gets paid well. He needs to make things happen.
He should be collecting nil $ on the golf course. If he's not, then he better get off the golf course and find some nilYou’re right. Fred gets paid like he’s one of the top coaches in the B1G, but gets bottom half results. Now in today’s CBB you need NIL money to succeed, doesn’t matter how good of a coach you are, if you don’t have the money to get good players you won’t succeed. That being said…
People say Fred doesn’t get the financial support he needs. And a lot of circumstantial evidence would suggest this true. So if it’s true, Fred needs to stop acting like such ***** and start advocating for his program. Put it out in the media directly, we need more NIL support to compete at the top of the B1G. Advocate and/or facilitate a public NIL push. Host/create events to promote this and his program.
If Fred isn’t getting the necessary support. It sure looks like he just takes it on the chin instead of fighting for his program/job.

There you go. Great idea. I know a lot of golfing events that raise a boatload of $$If Fred loves golf that’s great. I get it, I love golf and don’t get nearly enough time to play. So maybe organize a golf event to raise NIL money? IDK just spitballing…
Fred doesn’t make enough to buy top players out of his own pocket. The IRS and state of Nebraska are taking about 40% of his salary I bet.I’m worn out with all the lack of support/dollar store NIL/the school doesn’t care about basketball excuses. Fred gets paid well. He needs to make things happen.
Maybe it’s not the NIL. Maybe it’s the coaching. Maybe it’s the perpetual losing.

1890 has events to raise money Nebraska basketball can’t have a fundraiser because Nebraska BB alone can’t give NIL. The people have to give to 1890 and give specifically for BB they aren’t doing it .If Fred loves golf that’s great. I get it, I love golf and don’t get nearly enough time to play. They also have more leverage because they win .I don’t think that’s what he’s saying. We all know that’s against NIL rules. Or at least, that’s not what I’m saying. Do you see guys like Tom Izzo, John Calipari, Dan Hurley, Rick Petino, Mark Few, Bruce Pearl, Rick Barnes etc… just sitting on their hands if they believed they weren’t getting the necessary NIL support? Cause Fred makes about the same money as most of those guys…

How do you know Fred is not trying.? When you have never won a NCAA Tournament game and have a ****** history is not easy . You should call Fred and 1890 and take over the BB part of Fundraising. You think it’s so fkn easy.Obviously, but if anyone thinks coaches don’t coordinate, consult and/or directly push for and influence these events is pretty naive. Coaches that wanna make **** happen, make **** happen.

But Fred isn’t going down with the ship, or going anywhere for that matter. All this ship needs to stay afloat is an administrator who knows how to schedule 20 wins. That still gives a lot of fans a giant boner, even in a season when NU finishes 16th in an 18-team league.Well, if my organization/employer/state of Nebraska isn’t giving me what I need to succeed I’m not gonna just go down with the ship and say “oh well”. I’m gonna, at the least, get the public on my side. Make it known that I’m not getting what I need. This isn’t a new concept. Just new to college sports.

Fred gets paid well because despite us not being a top program, we are competitive a good amount of the time and PBA is almost full for most games with around 15,000 per game. The University really wouldn't make much more money if we were a Sweet 16 team. You’re right. Fred gets paid like he’s one of the top coaches in the B1G, but gets bottom half results. I will friendly wager you a pizza that if NU misses the B1G Tournament again next year, it will be explained away by the Fred Fan Club and nothing drastic will happen. Maybe a shakeup among the assistant coaches, but nothing more than that.I’d agree if this was Fred’s 2nd or 3rd season, this is season 7 and this isn’t the AD who hired him. I get what you’re saying, our lack outrage and urgency with regards to basketball is borderline criminal, but Fred is toast next year if we miss the B1G tournament again. Which is very possible if not likely.
I wish I was confident enough to say he’s done if we miss NCAA as well. Not 100% convinced of that, we’ll see…

Hopefully we won’t find out. <excuse font> But this is the year we had to replace the B1G’s leading scorer, AND Gary! Who could win under those circumstances??? </excuse font>
