Missed out on the DT, which we sorely need, but not going to bat a thousand. Glass half full—we have an excellent class! Can’t wait for the Spring game!

Shouldn't you be over on the Iowa board celebrating signing 2 and low 3-stars? Laughing

Affraid not my friend. You might want to take a look at what Iowa is doing and take some notes. Solid class, where you can see how they fit into the system moving fwd. We strengthened our identity. We didn't just take the highest rated we took the player that is going to be best for Iowa. FWIW "our" only 2 stars are a 6'8 TE that will end up as a tackle and a LB Phil Parker identified as soon as you took Honas out of SD and when Phil says he likes a LB we trust him.

Whatever it takes to make you feel better about having the #7 or 8 class in the B1G. Rock on with all that!

Hmmm...I thought we were projecting to be top 20, what happened? Did a couple schools do better than expected or we did worse?

We usually have higher rated classes than Iowa. And yet, they have beaten us soundly three years in a row. Here is an idea: why don't we actually beat them again before we start running off our mouths.
What’s the fun in that? We both have reasons for excitement. Iowa finished up with the best three year stretch of recruiting in Kirk’s tenure. Finally getting much faster. Here is to hoping Iowa/Nebraska starts to mean fighting for something big in the next half decade.

Did Iowa get some WRs this cycle?

It is a natural rivalry rooted in geographical proximity and cultural similarities. We have lacked that since we left the Big 12. I thought when we joined the B1G that our game would become a rivalry. I still think it will.

Sure, they beat us with The Man That Grinned Himself to Death. But Iowa fans are aware that those days of Mike Riley are gone. Having the momentum of having the #3 class in the B1G, after our staff worked part-time recruiting this year, will continue right into next season.

Not at all

There were several schools behind NU that only showed 14-18 commits and had kids who were expected sign to bring their classes up to 20+ kids. Their quality average was better than NUs- they just needed to get to 20 kids.

I had NU on #20-21 for last 2 weeks or so- but think it ends up at #22 at the end of the day. REALLY good job for year 1- compared with other NU coaches and recruiting to a 4 win team. NU did about as well as we expected down the stretch- assuming Washington and Hunt are goes

huh, imagine this, a piece of common sense and good judgement. If I just fell off the turnip truck I would conclude from this thread that Iowa has never won a thing and is lower than slug slim and Urban Meyer is just a worthless piece of crap as a person and coach. Then the reality hits that both of these programs have owned Nebraska sets in. Good teams and programs don't have to brag and talk, they get it done on the field. I will wait on the results, bragging without something to back it up is for losers.

You forgot to add that if we lose out on a recruit we either didn't want them anyway or that the other team gave them money to go to their school.

By the way this board reacts to each other’s post and vice versa it’s already a rivalry.

Three. A Tyjon Lindsey type quick WR, a McQuitty type WR with size, and then a typical boring WR that Iowa always lands.
Don't mean to poop on your parade, but the three receivers you picked up are no where near the talent of Linsey or McQuitty..just watched their videos, reason why there was little to no offers. Anyway, Iowa uses 6'8" and taller slow TEs to somehow get open for receiving corps.

wrt JJB, the concern was always that tOSU would make a late play. Do JJB and Tannor play the same psn. That may have played a part as well.

The mantra of the new age Husker fan is to talk as though we're the '97 Huskers even though the reality is that we've won zero championships since they've been old enough to really understand the game.

We signed 2 freshmen DTs last year. One is ideal for NT. Making us 3 deep at that position with Stoltenberg and Davis. Need bodies.

There’s nothing wrong with running our mouths and pounding our chests on our message boards. It’s the idiots who run to opponent message boards and pound their chests that need to find another hobby.

We should probably start our own thread but I didn’t say they were as talented as those guys. I used them as examples to GretnaShawn at the type of WR they are.
