Everything is manufactured but to a degree there's an organic feel to it like the first TO chain but IMO you can overproduce, overdo and go overboard to the point where it becomes ridiculous.

Now you can call me a hater, but it's getting to that point with them. Just like Nuts when I saw them last night I gave a big eye roll and used the lords name in vain. Hey it may work for them and that's what counts, as for my thoughts it's getting corny as sh*t.

Hey anyone can do what they like and if it works for them whatever but it looked silly to me once you got past the first TO chain which I thought was a cool idea and should have just stuck with that, don't need all these extra iterations. I don't know if you realize other schools did the same with things like turnover backpack, chair, robe,...etc again to me silly as the bling thing suits Miami but these other schools having their own spin...eh not so much for me. To each his own I guess lol.

Someone comes up with an idea that's why I say most of these things are manufactured whether it's a mantra (row the boat lol) or object or tradition that pops up (touching a rock, statue, etc..) but some have a more organic natural feel to them and others just seem overdone or silly.

Turnover chain was fine because it was original.

Anything that has followed since looks dumb, IMO.

Then again, I’m no longer 18ish years old.

We deserve them for the last 3 years of ZILCH.

You "deserve" nothing. None of us do. It's entertainment. You vote with your wallet. If you're a booster and you aren't happy with the product, you stop donating. If you're a season ticket holder and aren't happy with the product, you stay home. Turn off the TV. Make it clear as to why you're curtailing your interaction with the school and the program. The entertainment industry is Newtonian - equal and opposite reactions, and all that.

But none of us "deserve" an award for participating.

Not even a little tiny award?

Hey @RU4Real I got a trophy. They gave me a little statue for participating. And I'm damn proud of my Participation Trophy depicting Bill Nye carrying a football.

Tailgate #1 and my menu does not include Red Pig Meat.

So... 10 demerits. :)
Decide to stay where we're at for right now parking wise. Couldn't persuade anyone to give RU any more money for parking. Hell it took some coaxing just for them to renew, my wife included. I think I'll have better luck after a coaching change. If you would like to try your hand at curing I do have a 15 to 20lb pork belly not sold.

Thanks, but curing is the one thing I know basically nothing about. Something about salt. And the warning to use precise amounts per pound runs contrary to my free and easy nature. :)

Yea I know nothing about it either. But my hunting friends all wanted pork bellies, I guess it makes you feel like the Alaskan Bush people or something to cure your own. Eventually I'll have to take a class so I'm ready for the Zombie Apocalypse and my survival off the grid.

I'm trying to understand why cure it at all. I'm thinking... just smoke it. That's what I'd do.

I'll have to do some research on the subject. Usually our butcher down in Berlin, NJ slaughters and uses our cut sheet. This includes the bacon which he cures or whatever the hell he does to it. He does a real good job and it's not salty, have had other people's bacon and it's way too salty. So really I just raise them, after that I just eat.
