I hated them long before today
If you hated them before, why did you pine so much for their coach?? I'm so glad we didn't get Hurley. I hate Uconn. Let's beat them, not join em.
Ok man. You don’t look at a coach with back to back titles and go “yeah he sucks”.
Oh same. But now it’s up with KU level hate for me. Their fans are running their mouths, which is to be expected, but it’s become nasty like calling our fans “hicks” and “rednecks”.
He's a great coach. So was Coach K, so was Roy Williams... You wanna go after Bill Self now? No! Why? Because we don't go after other blue bloods coaches looking to save us. How desperate of a hire would that have been. I hate these teams. I don't want any part of them in Lexington!
I would take Kentucky people over Northeastern pricks any day of the week.

The discussion was about the UConn fans calling Kentucky fans hicks and rednecks so I am talking about Kentucky People over people from the Northeast. My comment has nothing to do with coaches.
What about the other points about stealing another blue bloods coach? It's weak, honestly. Also, I have a feeling he wouldn't have been a good fit here in ole Kentuck. I don't think it would've gone as well as most pictured. The guy has already won two. His legacy is set. If he came here at his peak and suddenly couldn't reach that peak again, that would be a helluva lot money down the drain. Give me Bruce Pearl and he wins a title in the next 3-4 years.

And you're still stereotyping people from the NE. I've known some very good people from up there. But if you're just doing the playful banter thing (Yankees vs Hicks) I can appreciate that.
People that thought we were going to get Hurley were delusional. I tried to tell you all and give the reasons why but some people think we could throw $100 million at the corpse of Adolf Rupp and he'd zombify and coach next year.
I am a hillbilly who lives in the NE, and it is actually pretty great up here. People are more open and tolerant and actually very nice. They also love sports (Go Birds!), good beer, bourbon, and bluegrass music, so best of both worlds.
I have been to NYC and am basing my opinion off of the people I met there. They were the rudest people I have ever came across in my travels.
I understand, but NYC is just a fraction of the NE. When you have that many people in a melting pot, you're going to find everything sped up and people protective.

Had a boss from NE once. He actually wasn’t too bad but he’d been transplanted south for awhile. But if you pissed him off my goodness. The NE prick would come out quick.
I have never had experiences with anyone from Connecticut but hear the KSR guys talking about they were the rudest fans they have ever came across with the exception of maybe IU fans. Again that isn't my experience.

NY does not count. They are another animal entirely. Too many people and many of them are just insufferable. Great pubs and music, though.
