This game has the feeling as if it is an Elite 8 game playing for the final 4...just electric.

I love this X team the best X team ever they have never been higher than a #3 seed this win likely at least gets X a #2 seed. I pray X and Kentucky are not in the same region would really bum be out knowing 1 has no shot to make the Final 4.

OK can we stop this foolishness of Nova being number 1 overall 1 seed. They should be a 3 at best. They were rolled by 11 by Virginia and Oklahoma by 23.

I really like Xavier and Chris Mack but you gotta think they will be #2 in the Louisville region and we will be the #3

Who knows what Kentucky's seed will be but there is a chance Xavier could be the 4th #1 seed if they win out or only lose in the finals to Nova.

Also who knows how the regions will break down because who knows where on the seed line we will fall and what other teams are already in the rejoin. Say if Nova is the #1 in our region then X can't be in the same region.

I just hope they are not in the same one.

Chris Mack is working his way up to the bottom of my top 5 for replacement coaches. In my mind, if we can't get Donovan or Brad Stevens or Sean Miller, he's right there in that next group with Archie Miller, Matta, etc.

Word is that the dirty birds are going to go for Archie when Rick walks. That's a sticky situation he'd be walking into, though. He can get an actual elite job if he waits just a little longer, and it would involve less post-hooker PR maneuvering.

Xavier will be a tough out for anyone come tourney time.. I may take them in my final four.. Pretty sure I'll take Miami for sure.. Of course I suck at filling out brackets..

I would take Mack over Donovan or Matta, if he keeps proving himself. I like the rest of your list.

Glad to see X win, my second favorite team behind UK. Grew up in Cincy area (Fairfield) and always hated the Bear Cats, especially the Yates era. Cincy fans hate X so great to see them get a huge win.

Xavier prob #1 in South now. Things really could be setting up for cats. Iowa should drop to a 4 after tonight.

And warning a coach instead of an instant double technical and an ejection. Much better to watch than the awful SEC refs.

Exactly. There are WAY too many attention-seeking refs today who are WAY too eager for any excuse to blow their damned whistles.

In that X/Nova game it was nice to see some refs who actually understand that the game is not about them and actually show some restraint by giving subtle first warnings, instead of instantly whistling. Today that's considered a refreshing change of pace, but I remember back when it was rather commonplace.

And their signature win was the first game against Xavier, when they got freakishly hot (36/57, 13/25 on 3's). Which Xavier just avenged. And their best OOC win was...? Stanford, maybe?

I don't know who deserves a 1 seed this year. No one, really. So I guess the best of the Big East is as deserving of it as anyone, but there's very little reason to trust that Villanova (or Xavier) is really any better than teams that might go into the tournament rated 10-20.

Judging by your avatar you love you some middle/northern Ohio. I can't stand northern Ohio.

I like Chris Mack, but I wouldn't want him here. It's nothing against his coaching. I just think he'd be miserable here having to put up with all of us and the pressure that comes with UK. He's more of the quiet, family man type of person. I just don't think he'd enjoy coaching here.

Obviously though, I could be wrong.

Well, yeah. Most objective systems have had Xavier in the 10-20 range for most of the season.

Villanova has been a cut above Xavier during conference play.
