I don't think you can count on Nova having 2 games in a row where they shoot lights out.

Michigan saw what Kansas did - which is panic mostly. They won't let the game get out of hand.

maybr they are a blue blood
A great run for them, IF, they follow up last night's amazing shooting with a win. My idea of a "Blue Blood" is consistent quality sustained over decades of play. The name invokes a university serious about their basketball, with many passionate fans expecting to see some good play against their local or regional rivals. They will have won three championships tomorrow, so they are a program that lately has been at or close to the pinnacle of college basketball; however, they are far from being a "Blue Blood," a distinction reserved for--if you want a specific number--probably your top five or six programs in the country. I would say only Kentucky, UCLA, Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, and Indiana qualify as true blue bloods, with Indiana's membership only secure because of five championships and whose value has been damaged significantly in the last several years of mediocrity. Those are the top tier programs beating out everyone else...then comes second tier, of which Villanova might become a part tomorrow with a win. Others in that group that come to mind are Syracuse, Louisville, Michigan State, UConn, and Michigan if they win tomorrow.

Interesting that if Nova wins then 3 programs will have multiple titles during the Cal era: Nova, UCONN, and Duke.
How many of those UK games was Higgins involved in? Or Luckie? UConvict owes one of their titles to Higgins for sure. UNCHeat owes their 2017 title to Higgins.

Too bad we don't have the pull UNCheat does.....they got TV Teddy banned from reffing in the tournament.

I know Georgia won’t ever reach Nova’s level and Crean isn’t Wright (obviously), but Villanova is who I wish we would try and model our program after. We’re never going to get the one and dones, but I just love the way they play. So disciplined, great ball handlers, great shooters, great passers, defensive tenacity.

We crapped the bed in 11 and 14.... those should be ours

I'm not so sure about 11 or 14. 2010 and 2015 were the games we choked in. We lost to a better team in 2011. 2014 would have been different if we had Willie for that game. but the twins and young just couldn't stay with uconns guards.

Both Florida and Kentucky were better than UCONN in 2014. Florida lost to them on a miracle bounce and last second shot by Napier @ Connecticut early in the season with a depleted roster and then just completed crapped the bed in the Final Four. They got up 17-5 and then just fell apart. The Gators were 36-2 and on a 30 game winning streak entering Dallas. Still wish Florida and Kentucky had played for the title that season. Such a disappointing end to an amazing season.

Some of you are making the mistake of thinking Kansas defense against Nova is going to be the same as Michigan's. I expect this to be a much closer game. Force them to beat you inside.
Last night was the first time I set down and watched a complete Villanova game. I Don't Like them. They remind me of a classical Duke team up & down. Jack up a million 3's, flop a lot trying to draw fouls, and have that same entitled smug look on their face. I will be rooting for Michigan and Matthews. JMO

I also think Michigan's defense will be better, on guarding the three. I don't know if they can beat nova, but I just don't think they will allow wide open threes.

One of the things that makes 'Nova on the cusp or legit "blue blood" is that they have had more than one coach win a title.

Also, they have been to 6 FFs and spanning 5 different decades.
Been to 36 NCAA tournaments which is 8th most

I put huge weight on the ability for a program to span decades of success and not defined by one coach.

When debating with other fans, my strongest argument that demonstrates why UK is the bluest of blue bloods is that we have had 5 coaches win titles. That is by far the most. I think only KU and UNC come close with 3 coaches to win titles (NCAA titles!). It really is a true sign that your program is bigger than any coach.

I think Nova is in the discussion as a legit powerhouse/blue blood if they win Monday.

Just left Westgate, there are some sizable bets on Michigan...heard there was a 50k moneyline bet...also 275k on Michigan.
Rumor has it that there was someone trying to spread his 1.5 million on Nova between 7 books.
Again, take with grain of salt. You always hear bout these while standing in the que waiting to bet.
Sheesh that's a lot of dough

If they do, that will just give them number 3... unless they count "Fake" National Titles like the Helms Titles.

That would give them the same amount of "Official" National Titles as Kansas... 3.

Kansas, by the way, claims 5 National Titles, which include 2 "Fake" National Titles (Helms). LOL!
