Used to go to U.K. vs ND in Freedom Hall every year when I was young. It was a good rivalry. Great atmosphere. The sat morning practice was great to watch and we could get autographs. The good ole days.

Yeah...its absolutely a great scheduling move.

Its obviously head and shoulders better than another tune up cupcake.

And if we're going to schedule name Power 5 schools, while I welcome the likes of Virginia Tech and Utah on our schedule, Id rather have Notre Dame if we're going that route. I liked the mixing it up and adding Michigan though i dobt like shipping it to London but whatev.

Theres only a handful of UNC, IU, Kansas, Duke etc. Im of the opinion we should be playing 2 or 3 of those type guys in addition to UofL every OOC. We more or less do right now.

But it wouldn't kill us to drop a few of the cupcakes, maybe 2 or 3, and sprinkle in some solid P5s.

People can go on about roster turnover and being ready and blah blah. The reality is Im a paying fan and I want games that are worth me paying $40 for nosebleeds to see.

I think as we see the recruiting game to continue to evolve and we get more roster stability in the coming seasons that lame excuse about lack of early season experience will go out the window. At that point are we Kentucky or arent we? Being scared to schedule middle of the road P5s? Pshhh. GTFO with that nonsense.

It's a heckuva lot better game than Coppin St is it not?

I sort of hate Cal's philosophy of no home and homes and all good teams at neutral sites.....but this is better than today's home gate to be honest.

Yep, and they were really good in the '70's. Dan Issel and Austin Carr had some classic shootouts and although UK dominated the series, the games were entertaining.

I was at that game in Quicken Loans Arena, Lebron showed up in the boxes to watch. The big KAT pulled us out of that one or we were toast Before we even got to Wiscy.

Thats why I cant believe when people say that they lost all hope or that 2015 was our worst loss. If anyone had of been paying attention that team started the year our absolutely destroying people be 30 or 40 points. And I mean some of the better teams in America. As the year went on they slowly became to confident and you started seeing them play down to the opponent like they knew they were so much better than everyone else that they could just coast and turn on the offense when needed. Most of the time that worked. A couple of times were very close to a L. I knew before the tourney started we wouldn't win it all. Almost bit it with Notre Dame before losing to Wisconsin.

I had REALLY hoped we would schedule Purdue for this exact reason. Their little meth-riddled IU heads would have exploded.
BTW, is ND considered a full member of the ACC in basketball? I know they have one foot in for football.
Also wouldn't be surprised to see a game with Illinois on the schedule in the near future. Would be a good rivalry-type game. Maybe play it in Chicago or heaven forbid....Louisville!
