I still remember when, as your conference mate, they took the bcs bowl from you guys. It was a long time ago, but then again, so are your bcs days.

Pssst, so is everybody's BCS days ... there's a new system now.

We have 3 trophies in our case from those days though, not sure how many other teams can say the same. I'd say the odds are really high that we're the only one to have the trophy from 3 different ones considering the conference tie-ins and everything.

I remember when you boys were telling us UConn was big time and had clearly surpassed MU.... but now when we play the Huskies, they're suddenly no good!

It wasn't sudden.

Here's something many don't understand, some years some teams are good, and other years those same teams can be bad. Otherwise there'd be no need to ever play more than one season.

You're letting your emotions override your intellect. UConn beat two top ten teams in one year....I could follow on with has Marshall ever done that? but I won't, that's cruel.

You are right about them now, they are not very good this year. I don't think you will win by 17 points.

Only current conference mate Oklahoma got all 4. They even got the Cotton Bowl to boot. Bob Stoops is tits.

The fact that the dumb bastard doesn't understand this is almost comical...

I still remember how Marshall was going to win a BCS bowl before WVU...

Yeah, said no one ever. The comment has been made, and is likely very true, that Marshall will play in a big bowl under the new system before wvu does. Not the playoffs mind you, but one of the NY6 bowls.

We're playing in a bowl with a $3.3 M payout this year, you're playing in one with a $500 K payout.

You guys are playing in a bowl sponsored by the favorite hotel chain of migrant workers, those that like to set up quick meth labs and crack whores. I wouldn't be throwing stones at anyone else when it comes to bowl games.

As far as the payout, both conferences pool and share bowl money and the fans don't get any of it, so it doesn't matter much to me. What's funny is Marshall will actually make money off their bowl and wvu most likely will lose money. CUSA doesn't stick us with a ticket minimum and picks up travel costs, so we are guaranteed to realize some profit.

The Big 12 splits its bowl take for each team after expenses and that will generate more $$$ this season since Oklahoma is in the CFP and the Sugar Bowl deal kicks in with the SEC.

so...
51 million for playoff
6 million for Oklahoma
40 million for Sugar Bowl

The Big12 didn't get the Sugar $$$ last year, but we'll get it two out of every three years
and that doesn't include the small $3,350,000 payout for the Hotel 6 Cactus Bowl...

so yeah, the Mooo will make more in their bowl game... and Tom Bodett thinks you're an idiot too.

so the real answer is: WVU makes ~ $10M ... the Mooo ~$100,000 ...

And you're a banker?

Sounds like the marshall way. CUSA will lose money but marshall is fine with it. Someone else is paying.....

And, just like with the Big 12 money you get, the bowl money you will receive will be from the value of others. Just like Wake Forest making money thanks to Clemson and Vanderbilt making money off Alabama. I guess it's the reward for being schedule filler.

Just because you want it to be true doesn't make it true. The Big 12 obviously disagreed with the bank tellers union since they decided that WVU was the most valuable choice to join. I dont see Marshall in any expansion discussions outside herd nation fantasy boards.

The bowl payout is $3.3M. So WVU's contribution to the overal Big 12 total will be decent after costs.

It's probably costing CUSA to send Marshall to a bowl. But that's okay, Marshall is familiar with losing $ and having others picking up the tab.
