Frost needs better assistants. After years of “Clemsoning” Dabo canned his assistants and paid top dollar for better ones.
Our quarterback is without question far worse than he was as a true freshman.
Our o-line looks as though they’ve never even played the position before and Jurgens is the only one that has that excuse.
Our defense is still out of position and can’t tackle.
Our team is still getting pushed around because they aren’t strong enough.
There is a very obvious talent gap between Nebraska and Ohio State, but the biggest concern is the coaching gap.
Good coaching would have kept this game within a couple scores, but instead, this team was outcoached in just about every facet and blown out of the water.
Good coaching goes way beyond play calling on offense and defense. Good coaching is teaching the players proper fundamentals, proper footwork, proper handwork, how to get properly aligned, how to take proper angles, how to properly tackle, how to shed blocks, how to maintain blocks, knowing their assignments, etc.
Wisconsin isn’t signing top-five classes, yet year after year they field a very high-quality defense and a very high-quality offensive line. That’s called player development and coaching. Now take player development and coaching and combine it with top talent and that’s how you get championship teams.
Nebraska doesn’t have the talent, but more importantly, it doesn’t have the coaching. So it falls on Frost to go out and get the coaching to achieve that.
Ryan Day canned a bunch of coaches and hired better ones.
Lincoln Riley canned a bunch of coaches and hired better ones.
Dabo Swinney canned a bunch of coaches and hired better ones.
Scott Frost NEEDS to can a bunch of coaches and hire better ones.
