saw a license tag with a WVU insignia in Winchester the other day. Tag read YOST X3. Got curious and did some research on what the 1962 - 63 QB's number was. was not 13 but 15. I may have read it wrong. I recalled Jerry being named to an all american team back then. Strange, in the article I read Yost was shown as a halfback. After being walloped by Navy in the 1963 opener (witnessed by me), maybe he should have played halfback. (Just kidding) Wonder if he was related to Fielding Yost?

Navy game was my first WVU football game. I remember we stood in the open end for one of Navy's touchdowns. They looked so much bigger than our players.
At a post game later, cant remember which but Yost's mother was shoving everyone away as he left the field
" Let the star through, he's the star." Most just rolled their eyes, others laughed. When cops wouldn't let her in dressing room, she went looking for reporters to give interviews. Total stage mother.
