Open looks not going in. Hope they learn tonight. When KY is in town, it matters more.

Williams has got be better with the ball. Oweh threw up some bad shots. They were definitely rough guarding Brea. He will have to adjust from here on out.

Disappointed but not shocked. Defense was not good tonight at all imo.
Oweh didn’t have the legs but kept firing. Those possessions from 3:00 to 1:30 to go really hurt.

Carr is the one that has been baffling me. I feel like his threes take the same bounce off the rim every time. He needs to hit those shots. They all have to shoot better. That stretch in the first half where we missed like 4 in a row a lot of those were great looks. That's really the game right there.

Statistically speaking he should have hit at least 1 of those 3 straight open 3s… and then it’s an entirely different ballgame. But like you said, legs were probably drained at that point. I feel Brea should have been in more through the 2nd half… and then maybe Oweh isn’t quite as gassed at the end. But that’s my armchair coaching. I’ll be curious to hear if Pope discusses his thinking on the 2nd half bench rotations.

11/18 from the line and 7/27 from three ain't going to win any game vs. even just a decent team on the road.
Yeah… even just a modest, rather than atrocious, performance at the FT line probably lets us sneak out with a win tonight. Make that 13/18 and the last 2 minutes of the game is played entirely differently.

Relying a lot on threes opens yourself to a lot of variance. Especially when you don’t have a guy or two who are capable of just creating offense all by themselves.

Yeah. The free throw shooting is the biggest surprise to me bc we’ve had a couple games like this…and it wasn’t all Amari and Garrison….everyone other than this 2 should be Monty from the line but too many are being missed by guys with touch

I guess the only slightly disappointing thing to me about Pope so far is I thought he would use his bench a little differently. He seems to be stuck in the same sub patterns.

We didn’t really rely on 3s though. Clemson shot more than we did.

We missed too many free throws and was -5 in the turnover battle. Those empty possessions and missed free points by being sub70 from the line cost us more than the 25% from 3. Wide open 3s by some guys shooting 35%+ have to be taken.

We’re a jump shooting team. The guys regularly going to the free throw line aren’t good free throw shooters. I’d say the turnovers are also a result of we don’t have a lot of guys that you can truly trust with the ball.
