More of a perception loss, unless the kid starts playing with at least a little of of passion - low motor & energy. If the light bulb goes on, can’t teach the height and base of skills.

Not sour milk, I’ve watched him a few times, wasn’t impressed.

Favorite team doesn't make the cut:
Final three. Such drama.

Favorite team makes the cut:
We're still in this!! I want this kid!! LET'S DO THIS!!

nope. Not about that at all. It’s about having a final 10...and then a final three. And then the decision. Final 10 announcement...lol. People need to get over themselves.

This kids dad is literally one of the worst parents I’ve ever seen in HS basketball. Kid is talented but I could see issues if he doesn’t succeed right away

That covers about half of the parents of the Top 100 types.

Kyle Anderson's Dad , Kelly Tripucka and Greg Olsen's Dad Chris were the worst I ever witnessed .

So a person who uses the name and pic of of a parody of an elderly retiree wants teenagers to get over themselves. That's about right I guess.

As a Gator grad I am ok with that. You know what? Screw that. I'm not. He went to Rutgers Prep. He should be at the RAC.

Where did Magoo go to college?

No one is attacking the kid. He eliminated Rutgers.. so we're done with him too.. and really... all this self-promotion, self-dramatization is getting ridiculous.

If he has already chosen Nova.. as many here insist he has.. then all this elimination process is just a show put on for his own self-interest.

Why should we applaud that process?

Again, no personal.. everyone is doing it.. and it is drama-queen stuff. Maybe calling it drama-queen stuff will get kids to think about being more humble.

FYI @Russ Wood
Quincy Magoo RU
Wikipedia - "Mr. Magoo is an alumnus of Rutgers University, Class of 1928. The reason behind this is that his creators wanted him to be "a college alumnus who was still fired up with the old school spirit [and they felt] Rutgers was the embodiment of the 'old school tie' in America.".[19] He was definitely in a fraternity, since he would often shout out, 'Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Rho – Rutgers, Rutgers, Go – Go – Go!"

We didn’t have much complaining here when Big Cliff narrowed his list from 10 to 3.

Some of you old-timers might remember Kent Culuko and his father Cliff. I'm sure SHU fans and Terry Dehere remember them fondly.

Lol. That makes no sense at all. Mr Magoo is a cartoon character who attended Rutgers. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

and yes, I think it’s “over the top” to have a “Top Ten” announcement when you’re not Lebron James.

much classier to handle it the way Omoruyi did..with more humility.

it’s an opinion and that all these boards are...though lately only one-sided opinions are acceptable for fear of upsetting any sensitive people.

Bad form around these parts Russ. That's like asking "What's a Rutgers?".

Omoruyi may not have been FaceTimed, called and texted as much as Patterson. At the end of the day, it's their recruitment and it is the biggest thing to happen in their lives, not to mention they are doing whatever the most important adult in their lives are giving them the green light to do.

But generally speaking, on message boards the typical fan reaction when kids do a couple of "list cuts" is negative when their favorite school is no longer being considered and positive when their favorite school is still on the list.

It's kinda natural...but it amusing af to me.

I get asked that question from time to time. That and "Where is Rutgers."

Since I don't know the Turnpike exit I just tell people that Rutgers is somewhere in New Jersey.
