They run those deals pretty often. I signed up for a year when they offered 50% off and an adidas gift card, which I sold on eBay and ended up paying like 4 bucks for a year of HOB. So you could actually do the 60 days now and then look for a similar deal later.

Here is how I look at it:

Cal said he thought the rule was going to pass at the end of the season.

Cal is trying to have a backup option so if it doesn't go through, we aren't totally screwed. Having Haarms would have been nice if all else failed.

However, If this thing passes then we could see a lot of guys that chose not to come to UK, Come to UK.

One I can think off the top of my head is Nfaly Dante.

Story is he almost transferred to UK because he was upset with how Oregon didn't try to stand up for him with the NCAA violation or whatever it was.

Add Dante to next years team and we are Preseason #1.

Hell, add any solid starting Power 5 Starting 5 from last year and we are top 5 for sure. This is the missing piece for #9.

I was kinda hoping we didn’t get him to be honest. With the transfer rule happening I think we get a better option. I understand why they went after him bird in hand thing and still uncertainty but now it looks like it’s going to pass. I prefer rolling the dice and maybe getting a impact player transfer vs getting a solid role player who doesn’t fit system. Worst case we don’t get a stud and get a guy Haarms caliber who’s a better fit more athletic and can switch.

On your last point, I could see Cal saying that and I could also see it preventing a guy like Haarms from wanting to come here in his last season.

Time will tell. If Calipari doesn't snag a player who is at least as comparable to Haarms from an impact level, the staff will have failed this summer to secure a position player of need.

We shall see, but their big man efforts as of late haven't inspired much hope in me on that front.

I just don't see how the possibility of us adding one more big could have scared Haarms off when he went to BYU who are 4 deep with bigs including 6dt10 and 6ft11 guys that followed Pope from his old school and sit out last year and I would imagine expecting to play.

Alright AGAIN who do we add in the middle we NEED a big with some slight bulk. IMO Ware and Jackson won’t cut I hope I’m wrong but just don’t see it in these 3-4 year players

Dint see Dante transferring might as well go for SOTO now seems like the only one left to reclassify
