Why bring up his race as though somehow that kind of behavior is about race or anything else? I get so tired of seeing people use race to justify things. I mean what is he trying to say with this comment? Because he's black and from nothing, he can act how he wants? Is it that we don't understand how it's really OK to behave that way since we're not black and from nothing? Cussing that way and being out of his mind is raw emotion for him?
It just sets the bar so low on the basis of skin pigmentation and that's pure garbage to me. I am happy for him achieving his dream and I admire his ability to overcome so much to reach this point. But to me, all those things are signs of strength of character not weakness. It has nothing whatsoever to do with him being black. He's a man just like me. The color of his skin is utterly meaningless in the true scheme of things.
I realize that to society and other humans, we may see skin color but the reality is his blood is just like mine and we are brothers in humanity. I don't see a need for him or anyone else to play race as a crutch for how he behaved or anything else. Just way over the line for me. I actually find this far more distasteful than I did his behavior when he was drafted.
Thoughts?
