If true, another slap in the face for the Horns. Not looking good for them.

Yep, another metric that is telling is their commitment list.
Back in the glory years they'd be rocking around 18 to 19 verbals at this point in the year...they have 12.;)

Lol, ya that's gotta hurt the ole ego of Texas that they are now getting turned down by coordinators.

And recruiting isn't a very telling factor. Strong is a coach that I've heard doesn't believe in loading up a class ASAP like Mack Brown did.

Well thanks William, I did not know that.

Who would want a bleak offense centered on run only qb's in these times? Shorthorns have fallen into their own pit. Good to see they are now on to plan Q.

My name is Raymond J Johnson Jr. You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, or you can me Johnny, or you can call me Sonny, or you can call me Ray J, or you can call me R J, or you can call me R J J, or you can call me R J J Jr, but you doesn't have to call me Johnson. :)

I like the Italian mob guys with all their handles...

"Of course you know I'm Vito Coscone...some of you may know me as Johnny two times, or Jimmy 12 toes, or Tommy two guns...however for the convenience of this meeting just call me Frank".:D

One more thing, a featured dish in a mob owned restaurant;
Broken leg of lamb.

Look, no one wants to go to a place with so many question marks. Strong has proven exactly squat in 2 years. He has 2 QB's that aren't worth the hair on a jackalopes ***.

Now, if they are smart, they'll pick up Trevor because he's 10X the QB they have, and get a good running back and run the **** out of the ball. Trevor can't pass much, but he's better than what they have.

Now, that would be a curious turn of events...especially next October, wow.

B.S. The athletic director and president of UT flew to Tulsa wearing their knee pads. They had to save face they already had the first choice turn them down. He did that with an absurd offer on the table. I hope Gilbert made them pay absurdly also.
The headlines read UT the flagship university top leadership flew to Oklahoma to beg a TU co offensive coordinator to accept. Hufu is full of doo doo.

I suspect that the reason many are shy about taking the job is that there is more than a small chance that next year might be Charlie's last. Assistant coaches tend to go down with that sinking ship, and if you have a family, you don't want to go someplace where you'll be job hunting against in 11 or 12 months.

Texas is still a good job. Maybe a great job. But hitchhiking on the Titanic is likely not a great career choice.

This was exactly what I was talking to some friends about yesterday. Strong just finished his 2nd year of pretty lackluster results. Odds are, if he doesn't show some major improvement next year, it will likely be his last. Not many coaches would leave their current stable situation to join a staff that appears to be a sinking ship. Prolly has very little to actually do with Strong personally or looking down at coaching at a place like Texas. It's more of just a smart decision career wise for coaches at this point.
